Washington (CNN)Ben Carson said Wednesday he's pulling in lots of money amid all the backlash he's received for remarks he made regarding Muslims in politics.

The retired neurosurgeon said he raised $1 million within 24 hours following the CNN debate on Sept. 16, and that donations have poured in after remarks he made over the weekend about Islam and the presidency.

"The money has been coming in so fast, it's hard to even keep up with it," he said Wednesday morning on Fox News, when asked about whether his comments had affected his donations. "I remember the day of the last debate, within 24 hours we raised $1 million. And it's coming in at least at that rate if not quite a bit faster."

So to recap....

1. Trump says offensive truths... and goes up in the polls.

2. Carson says offensive truths... and goes up in the polls.

Why is Rand Paul wording thing so carefully again?

If any truths are offensive it's those of libertarianism. Yet Paul speaks about them as if he wants to be as bland and unnoticed as possible. (seems to be working)

This is exactly why nobody is serious about resolving the mess in the middle east. Unresolved messes are good for revenues in the politics industry.

Because Carson and Trump "truths" are about blaming unpopular scapegoats for our problems. That's always popular. Libertarian truths are about looking in the mirror and not sticking your head in the sand. Nobody likes those truths. That's why we are screwed.

Neither will win. Carson will get a few bucks from racists. It won't translate into votes. At this point I don't think Carson is variable for top 5 in Iowa. Uniting people works. Dividing them won't. It's the strategy Bush and Rubio are using to great effect.

Will George Zimmerman make a great VP and fund raiser for Ben Carson?

I look at Dr. Ben Carson and I am not sure I would want him to stitch up my cut. There's just something about him that screams "I am not very smart". The so called truth he is willing to tell is one that I care very little about. Even if it was the "Truth" that a Muslim should not be president of the US, it does nothing for me. There is no threat or even a possibility of a Muslim being president in the next 100 yrs, at a time when I surely would be dead and gone.

I want truths that is actually going to improve my living conditions. Things like the problem with big debt this country is accumulation, the mess we are making in the Middle east, the MIC, the unfunded liability that would be hitting us in the next coming years. Talking about the Muslim bogeyman does absolutely nothing for me :(

You don't become arguably one of the best pediatric neurosurgeons in the world if you're a dummy. He's not all that politically astute, but that's a different kind of intelligence.

Muslim immigration isn't a big problem in the US, but it could be. Once they get to be 5% of the population, the tide starts to turn. Look at the EU for evidence of that. We do not want that in America.

It's pretty obvious what the voters want. But no politician can simply find the guts to give it to them. It's like they can't look themselves in the mirror if they aren't PC

I believe this is called the Nixon-Kennedy effect or something like that. Try listening to audio of all this stuff and see how you think of it before watching it on the teevee or webbernet. (not that elections matter...just sayin')

Maybe that's it, but the way his eye darts around during interviews is not very reassuring. Also the very deliberate way he talks drives me crazy. Ask the man, what is 1 + 1? and he takes a deep breath first before giving you an answer.

Talk about worrying about non problems. Muslims are not going to have any meaningful power in the US in our lifetime. If there was any religion we should be telling the truth about, it is the one that gets the US into wars around the world. The one that makes the Muslim world hate us. But that truth is too much for even a truth teller like him to tell.

the problem will come when they reach a viable number to start winning local elections. some of these have very low turnout (school board, off-year primaries).

So Ben has raised $7M since the last debate? Hmmm

I remember a coworker saying Cruz raised $20M when he launched his campaign. I said impossible and most like it was a PAC. He had no idea what that meant but he does now as it turned out that $20M was from one person. My coworker thought it was a sign of wide support originally. He's gone from Walker, to Cruz to now Trump. He's okay with Paul and would vote for him vs the Dem nominee but most likely won't vote for Paul over the current GOP options. I blame Fox News and talk radio.

As an engineer, I might offer a theory.

Affirmative action?

He said "arguably the best pediatric neurosurgeons" and not best back bencher. This is one reason why I hate affirmative action, cos no matter what you achieve in life as a someone who qualifies for AA in the US, there is always going to be that cloud of "did he get to his position because of affirmative action" hanging over your head.

The man dismisses modern cosmology as a fairy tale but believes that the theory of evolution is the work of a supernatural demon. I don't know if he is stupid, but I want the person who saws open my skull looking to science, not ancient scripture, for guidance on the procedure.
