Ben Bernanke on Ron Paul Hot Seat! Watch live Today (video added)

AWESOME!... Congressman Ron Paul is holding a silver coin and speaking about how it bought 4 gallons of gas in 2006 vs 11 gallons now. Now he's talking about competing currencies.

"Good to see you again" Ben says. LOL...

"depreciating Federal Reserve notes." This after Ben vacillated about how we can hold Euros, pounds, yen... He has NO answer.

Anyone think Paul should start using the Silver coin on the campaign trail or in a future debate?

I've heard this argument so many times, and nothing ever changes.
Unfortunately,
This is why RP opposers can say he gets some attention, but never accomplishes anything.

The FED is part of the system, and it will not go away ... The entire planet is addicted to fiat currency by design.

With that said,
I appreciate his sense of duty, but he should be campaigning, and leave this back and forth, nothing really changes argument for a later date.

Watching Bernanke now...."Moving REO to rental".....WILL DESTROY the real estate market. I hate that man.

RP did mention the problem of capital gains when Bernanke said nothing prevents one from buying and storing silver now. That's the key, because if silver were to only stay even with inflation, prices were to double, and one were to pay a combined state plus federal 35% tax rate on the silver appreciation, one would lose 17.5% of one's purchasing power by buying and then selling silver.

Maybe it would have been better if RP had emphasized that point more.

It's not like he is taking a real break from the campaign. He had a rally in VA so he could be near DC, better to grill Bernanke than be in Lake Jackson.
