Behind the curtain: What the Status Quo pray you never learn

Human Resources covers a lot of the same stuff and is much more balanced and liberty oriented and covers a lot of other important things.

I'm sorry but I find this film to be of no significant use to our movement. It only shows bits and pieces of how we human beings respond to our environment and then makes a left turn into conspiratorial CIA brainwashing and human testing type of stuff.

I'm not saying it didn't happen I'm just trying to point out it's irrelevance in relation to our movement.

And what you call "same stuff" I think show a bit of ignorance on your part as to what was shown in the films that I posted and what is show in the film you posted.

Bump.

(I'm with you, Hazek...this really is crucial, important information.)

I'd love to have a conversation about that it means in a historical context wrt modern though. How much of what we all believe is because of this history of psychological manipulation, happening in both the public and private spheres? If you seem to be immune, to yourself, does that mean you're really immune? How would the world be different if none of this had ever happened? Also, what about modern "risk communication"? Is it ethical?

I think thinking about and rehashing history and how it affects the present is irrelevant and we shouldn't waste time on it. What is important though is to learn from history. And if history on this subject teaches us anything it's that people make decision and vote based on emotions, meaning their values and beliefs.

Now our emotions are preset. They aren't genetic and you don't get born with certain emotions. Our emotions are our responses to the environment and since the world, our environment, is constantly changing, people's emotions are also constantly changing. Our goal shouldn't be to change their emotions but to rather recognize what these emotions are and to cater our message to match their current beliefs and values. No one is immune to having emotions it's how we human beings function. Even if you are aware of this process you're still subject to it. Perhaps your values and beliefs are different from most people but you still have them. It's how we work. How our bodies tick. How our genes ensure we reproduce.

The films I posted merely display how our human nature functions. How seemingly irrational behavior is perfectly rational once you understand that the way our genes ensure our survival is so that we humans first and foremost avoid doing what we've learned through our life will cause us pain and second we do what we've learned will give us pleasure. This is the most basic level of how we survive and if you understand this everything else is just manipulation of this process. Everything.

And that's the most important lesson of this thread.

+ rep for this thread.

Maybe we can hire the Geico Gecko to do some ad spots for Ron Paul:

"Voting for Ron Paul can save up to 100% of your liberties!"

:)

Interesting segment in the first video. Next time someone praises FDR and his policies, remind them that the Nazis were full of praise of his policies too.

bump, just to make people aware what makes us human beings tick and what our nr.1 obstacle towards a Paul presidency is.

I'm a very passionate Ron Paul supporter even though I'm not an American. Nothing would make me happier if we could get him elected.

Please set a side anything you know about the political process and how it worked in the last 80 or 90 years and do our movement and Ron Paul a huge favor and spend your time and watch the following documentaries:

I may be wrong but after watching these my conclusions are:
-Ron Paul needs a good PR firm to help him package the message
-we need to hire a firm to use focus groups of GOP voters to find out how they feel about government
-we need to pretend we're selling a product -liberty- for votes and we have to figure out a way to package it accordingly

And last but not least if we as movement don't realize that majority of voters don't cast their votes based on reason as their guide, we will fail again come 2012 primaries.

I'm bumping this thread so you wont dare say no one warned you about this. Please note the date of the thread.

You're not wrong. Your aim is just different than Paul's.

He's trying to change the desires of the American people, not pander to them.

I think it will be incumbent on the next generation of Paulian politicians to pick up where Ron left off and craft the message in a way that stays true to its intent and still has an Obama-like appeal to the masses.

Maybe an ad with Ron Paul as THE FROG PRINCE ! This would create quite a buzz, and would appeal to the women voters.

Positive message...the lowly frog ( the unassuming, humble,Ron Paul )...offers to get the "golden ball" that the Princess loves, but accidentally dropped into the pond...in return for being able to live in the palace with the Princess. She agrees...( thinking she won't really have to fulfill
her end of the bargain ), ...but then later the frog turns into a handsome prince who makes all of her dreams come true !

Translation: Ron Paul may not appear to be the most handsome leader, but he will show his "star qualities" if we just give him a chance.
He will deliver the lost " golden ball " and make things right and good again in America !

Here is the Fairy Tale...a classic...and don't we all like happy endings ???

I've watched the first two so far... excellent documentary.

Yes, these highlight what we're up against... but then again, we could also use these to our advantage :)
