"I do NOT support the Fair Tax as an acceptable means of taxation. I would tolerate it for a short time if it meant that we could end the Income Tax. The Fair Tax is still direct taxation. The Federal Government takes your money, and there is nothing your County or State Government can do to stop it.

My solution to the tyranny of taxation, is to repeal the 16th amendment (which allows for direct taxation), and restore Imposts and Excises at the County level. This puts the money, and the decision making authority for how it is spent, closer to the people it was taken from. This way, if you don't like the way they are handling your money, it will be a lot easier for you to go down to the Mayors office and kick his door in,....than it will be for you to go to Washington and do the same.

Again, I will support the Fair Tax ONLY if it brings a complete end to the Income Tax. But once this happens, we have to remember what the end game is. End direct taxation and get the decision making authority for how the money is spent, closer to the people it was taken from."

The Income Tax is an Excise Tax. It may appear to be a direct tax, but that is because of misapplication for many taxpayers.

Never before has a Libertarian been elected to the House of Representatives. If we can do this, think about the message it sends to the other two political parties. Think about the message it will send to the establishment parties in our own State. Think about the message that it sends to the Democrat and Republican Parties in the other States. Think about the message that it will send to Congress.

Wanna get back to good government? Send them a message. Nothing will force the Republican Party back to fiscal responsibility faster than electing a Libertarian. As soon as I am elected, the Republican Party will start scrambling back to their roots of limited Government. The same can be said of the Democratic Party. As soon as I am elected, the Democratic Party will scramble back to their roots of the protection of civil rights.
