Beck comes close to endorsing Rand in 2016

exactly. rand still follows the constitution and i think everyone here can agree that he is a defender of the constitution. even if rand is not like ron, in terms of foreign policy (a bit more hawkish), rand can't go to war without congress approval. i just dont see what is the big deal about rand being slightly more hawkish. he cant bomb or invade countries without congress. although he might use sanctions, which is kinda an act of war. it is unfortunate, but at least i wont see rand invading iran by himself as president.

which brings me to... we gotta vote for more non-interventionalist into congress =p.

Bringing it back to Rand's Israel comments. Lets say Israel was attacked, that's almost a guarantee congress would actually declare war on whoever was the aggressor. That would put him in a tough spot would it not? Has a president ever refused to fight a war declared by congress?

Beck is garbage. Hard to trust someone who believes that Mormon mythology. Also hard to trust a sniveling lying backstabber who actively fought against us. The "libertarian" that campaigned for Santorum and Romney. What a joke.

I started posting here in 2007. I was a Democrat before Paul's sound bites made me think. Now I will only vote for clear supporters of Austrian Economics. Rand Paul is seriously pro personal library and follows austrian economics. His foreign policy doesn't bother me because he is pro constitution. If the US congress votes for war, Paul the Sr and Rand would both fight it, win it, and march out. Neither are for nation building.

Very interesting and thought provoking perspective. I'd like more evidence of his adherence to Austrian economics, but I can see no reason to question the second half of your statement.

The civil liberties side of the equation is huge to me. Yes I worry about the wars, but it seems to me that the wars have functioned as an exuse to take away civil liberties. I'm not sure what else they have accomplished besides that, and middle east destabilization, and maybe an oil pipeline.

its been a very expensive way getting oil, they could build the keystone pipeline and it will be a lot cheaper.

But yes, the wars are bad because a) the bankrupt us and b) take away our civil liberties and enrich the state. 'war is the health of the state' Randolph Bourne

believe it or not, there are people who would like Rand to just have a career of decades of obscurity in the US senate as long as he's taking absolutist positions.

Its not like I'm hitching my wagon to the Beck train here. But if the guy wants to shout liberty and what he's shouting is benifical to us. Why would we want to take anythign away from that? Who cares if he dobulecrosses us by 2016. Ride the wave while we can. Maybe it'll wake more people up.

I actively worked towards, and voted FOR, Ron Paul in the primary. When in the end he had ZERO chance of winning, I *WOULD* have voted for whomever the GOP nominee was, except living in SC, I was quite certain that Romney would win here and get our "winner takes all" votes, so I voted for Gov. Gary Johnson. I realize that many here seem to be just as miserable with any GOP as they are with Obama. I for one, would prefer Romney... or yes, even SANTORUM (GACK!) over 4 more years of 0bama.

If Beck, Levin, Hannity and Limbaugh were the only drones to get on board with a Rand Paul presidency, it might hurt him more than help him, but if things get as bad in the next 4 years as they can... I could see MANY running towards a man that honestly tries to protect, preserve & defend the constitution.
