Well heres a story...
THere was a guy with a hat and painted body that said "Fuck our Govt!" and the police state went into action to remove him. I was listening on the radios and the finally came to the conclusion of "Forget it, let him be" - I started clapping and I said "First amendment baby!"
That was a strange incident. Capitol Hill Police initially told me "that guy has to go. No profanity" and I just looked at the guy. I mean, by what authority do I take action? What gives me the right to tell some guy he can't say what he wants at a FREEDOM rally? And what am I supposed to do about it anyways? Make the guy disappear? I'm like, see my shirt? It says R3VOlUTION MARSHAL not "law enforcement officer".
Regardless, a massive effort then ensues to locate and monitor the guy as the cop says he's gonna go talk to his captain. I'm like "yeah, maybe that's a good idea". And word comes back that "we'll consider this protected free speech".
Oh reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally?????? Gee, what a concept! I mean, you'd almost think this thing is about the CONSTITUTION or something.
Those cops were great. Total professionals. But cops are funny sometimes. You have to understand the mentality. But because of our patriotism and good nature and friendly spirits, we got to bend the rules not once, not twice but....pretty much repeatedly throughout the event.
So congrads people. You demonstrated to law enforcement in our nation's capitol that we can be trusted. Even if we're boisterous and exhuberant and occasionally....crass, we're good and responsible people. Who can party their asses off.
