Bay Area Rapid Transit & The Growing Police State

Just trying it out and getting us conditioned for the future. They'll be sure to use the UK's example during the riots as rationale and precedent as well.

Too familiar.

What can you do? Technology has practically replaced face-to-face contact. People are more distant from one another and yet at the same time, we have each other's attention at the click of a button.

Except when the button is disabled.

The revolution's success will depend more on your ability to walk across the street and strike up a conversation with your neighbor on his porch, than your post count on the internet. (and I admit i'm saying this as someone with 3,491 posts, so I'm not excluding myself here)

I hear you 100% People have to overcome this 'don't talk to strangers' crap! Get out there and talk to your neighbors, make conversation when you're standing in line to pay your bills, buy groceries. Start going to the meetings, hold your own, VOTE, ect. It might be intimidating for some to strike up a conversation with a person that they've never met, but I can promise you that we are not alone. You'll find that we ARE the majority.

America has HAD IT with what's being done to our country!

I had an interesting conversation while waiting to vote last November. It seemed like while we were waiting to go cast our ballots, there were no parties. Everyone was just talking about the current state of affairs in the country, and the general consensus was that most politicians are liars and no one was really satisfied with their choices. There was a lot of talk about what could be done on the local level though.

State law dictates that you can't campaign for a candidate within so many feet of a polling place, but that was the thing: there really wasn't any candidate advocacy occurring. It was just strangers talking to strangers. The country folk were talking to the inner-city folk. You couldn't really tell who was going to vote for who.

It was nice to feel like the people weren't so divided for once.
