At the end of this video, about 8:20, Barr starts bashing Ron Paul for holding his press conference and then not backing him.

Barr is really pissing me off. He insists on making things worse and digging his hole deeper and deeper. What is wrong with this guy? I used to really like him a lot. But the more I hear him speak the more I dislike him. He is the most arrogant ahole on the planet.

Firs the guy has the nerve to wear that RETARDED looking mustache around like he's hot shit or something (yeah I said it, so what?), then he gets the libertarian nomination knowing libertarians are about as happy with him as conservatives are with John McCain and then he refuses to do basic things like show up to events where his main support will be coming from and then he insults his main support base and praises Bush and then is surprised that everyone is so quick to abandon him.
Is this guy douche bag of the year or what? I mean hes a total moron. He literaly has to have shit for brains.

That's what passes as bashing in your book? As a solid Ron Paul supporter over the past year, I agree with Barr. I am extremely disappointed that Paul endorsed Baldwin. Barr point was that he thinks its wrong to equate the Libertarian party with the Greens and Nader. Once Paul did what he did though he should has stayed on that course, and not endorsed any one.

Perhaps a valid question might also be, if Paul's endorsement was worth so much, why is it that Baldwin has seen zero bump from it?

wow Bob Barr resorting to the same bashing of Chuck Baldwin that some do here..

what a douche.

he has no right to say that Chuck Baldwin and Ron Paul arent helping the Liberty movement.. I dont remember either of them being drug warriors or Iraq War enthusiasts..

It seems to me that there is far far more Barr bashing going on here then there is Baldwin bashing.

I am disappointed with Barr, and I already disliked him. But to attack the other candidates... no, that is low and unforgivable. What happened to the Libertarian Party? Even though I am not a member and would probably not be one for a while after his nomination... I feel horrible for those who are card-carrying members of that party.

I wonder if all of you who are criticizing him for what he said even watched the video. If so, maybe you could tell me exactly what it was that he said was wrong. I'm being serious in asking.

I have stated repeatedly I'm not wild about Barr, but as a long time LP member I understand the strategy in running him and I'm willing to give it a shot. So far he hasn't done so well but I still think he's still doing better than the others would have done. Paul's moves however have been the bigger disappointment to me. So again I ask, what exactly did Barr say in this video that is wrong?

mustaches are only for people like myself. dont beleive me...??? check my sig. I am greater than Bob Barr.

dont beleive that????

make a youtube of it and PROVE me wrong.

yes barr is a douchebag and i hate him

i think it was due to the fact he didnt show up to the press meeting paul had that tried to get a consensus on making the debates fair to other parties. and then also to calling Paul out by name and saying we should be disappointed in him.
Barr could have done so much better. he has really screwed his momentum as far as im concerned.

Bob Barr is full of himself (that is, full of shit).

Agreed. The Libertarian Party has a much higher chance of getting media attention than other Thrid Parties. I think it's important for their reputation that they don't associate with the likes of McKinney and Baldwin.

Sorry! Barr is absolutely right.

“What [Ron Paul supporters] ought to be is disappointed in Ron Paul’s behavior. Endorsing the theocratic candidate that is Chuck Baldwin, whose party platform bears very little relationship to the true libertarian platform, makes no sense whatsoever. What we are trying to do, through my nomination and candidacy as the Libertarian nominee, is what we had hoped Ron Paul would have done and that is to provide true, focused leadership for the libertarian movement. Instead, what Congressman Paul did a couple of weeks ago was to hold a news conference as a sitting Republican member of congress - who by all accounts intends to remain a Republican member of congress - and invite four very divergent candidates: the Constitution candidate, the Green Party candidate, an independent candidate and the Libertarian candidate and present those as sort of a ‘Godfather’ to the American people and say ‘you have four candidates here who stand for very very different messages, vote for one of them.’ That’s not leadership. That’s not moving the libertarian agenda - which Ron Paul used to espouse, and do so very eloquently - forward.”

Ron Paul's press conference was about informing the public about the two-party duopoly. It was an endorsement of the idea of voting third party, not of any particular third party. Barr's absence took a great deal away from the impact of Ron's conference.

To make matters worse, Barr's campaign staff made some pretty hateful remarks about RP, with no real provocation. And now this thing.

I was considering voting Barr to open up ballot access for the LP in future years, but Barr has been toxic enough that I don't want anyone to misconstrue my vote. It's Baldwin for me.

If you'd care to actually look into it, the C4L people organizing the event made their fair share of "hateful remarks" and even spread a rumor that Barr was going to step down as LP candidate to let RP step up. This they told the national news media. Cavuto asked RP about it the day before the press conference.

Barr called Baldwin a theocrat.....well played Barr, well played. That'll certainly win you a pile of new supporters, jackass.

I don't think he was trying to win supporters with that statement, I think he was more concerned with telling the truth.
