I'm not just saying this because Barack Obama is not Ron Paul. I'm saying this because Obama supporters support him for the dumbest of reasons. He's young and he can speak well (and we can make history by having the first black president, yes let's base our vote on skin color... what?!?!?)... Sure, this is somewhat important (speaking), but to base your whole vote off of this is absurd! Do the people realize they are voting for a less-free America? I do not want to live in socialist Europe, I want to live in a free America!!

He is a much better choice than Hitlery. He actually opposes socialized medicine and says leave Iraq today. When it comes to general election I would take him over any republican except Ron Paul.

Wrong, he does not say leave Iraq today, when asked he said he could not commit to pulling troops out before 2013!

You just helped make the OP's original point. Good work!

If he was a white man, white woman, or black woman would Obama still have the same amount of support?

Makes you wonder if its about race/gender or about his stances on the issues...

He could care less about illegal immigration too.

IMO that will destroy our country quicker than any Islamic terrorist could dream of.

Sure, but my point is that they are still endorsing someone that does not move America into the right direction. And I said Obama instead of Hillary because our generation (for young people here) mostly support Paul or Obama.

Woman yes. White man, no.

I am just saying if its between McWar, Hitlery, or Obama. I am going w/ him.

There's not such thing as it being between only three or two people (even though it seems like most of America doesn't know this!). Even if RP isn't on the ballot in November, you can still write him in.

I think a lot of this is because they are still so apathetic.

I admit... a year and a half ago.. when I heard about Obama.. and saw what the other options were.. I was totally ready to vote for him. Black guy? Muslim name? Perfect.

I figured... what the hell? Why not? (At the time he was at least anti-war)

Because there seemed to be no other options.

It wasn't until I started hearing about the growing support for Ron Paul... and realized that He was serious... and not just another Nader.... that I started taking this election seriously.

Up until then it was a joke to me.

I think a lot of people are still in that apathetic frame of mind. They either haven't heard of Ron Paul, or haven't heard enough about him to understand that there is a serious candidate running... that really represents the interests of the people of this country.

That's why.... for them... it's still a popularity/image contest. Either "I want a black man in the Whitehouse" or "We have to get a woman in there"

No it has nothing to do w/ that he is black, but everything to do w/ me not wanting a socialist Prez Clinton or worse a Liberal General McWar.

i have this friend, well he's not a friend so much anymore, but we were best friends for over 10 yrs. (long story) anyway, he's a Obama supporter. On new years eve we got into a discussion about RP. I was amazed, this guy has pretty much had the same POV's as I have for the last 12 or so years, and was sooooo off base with these two men.

he saw the tim russert interview with RP, and said that Ron seemed like he didnt know what he was talking about. said that he sounded as if he was just saying a bunch of meaningless words. but Obama had this concrete plan to lead us and fix this nation. i was like WTF!!!??? how is Obama laying out a 'concrete' plan? I sure as hell havent heard it. And RP not knowing what he's talking about? the man's only been in congress for 30 yrs on the financial committees, on the foreign policy committees... wow, the disconnect was astonishing. i knew that we grew apart as friends, but that was really a blow. i couldnt believe it

Why?? Those 3 aren't the only candidates. No one should ever vote for those 3 pathetic war loving candidates. Vote 3rd party or don't vote.

Well I did not think Obama would be so bad but then I saw that he taught Constitution law at a college and yet he signed to reauthor the patriotic act --when he should have been first to say HELL NO --makes you wonder what he did teach about the constitution -so I agree not sure if people understand that this guy can be scary too
