There is no contradiction there, but I should have made my point more clear. What I was driving at is the point that homosexuals do not receive their rights to live on this earth from the civil magistrate, but from God. They were not born gay, though. That was a decision they chose to make of their own volition at some point of crisis or frustration in their life. Their homosexual lifestyle is a crime against nature, and thus, that makes it a capital offense, punishable by death.

Having said that, our justice system today does not view homosexuality as a capital crime in any wise. That is a serious defect in our justice system. So, based on a measure of grace, I would simply say that homosexuals need to repent of their perverse lifestyle, and return to the natural affection with which God gave them in the beginning of their lives.

Suffice it to say, homosexuals do not have a right to get married just as murderers do not have right to kill other people. Both acts are inherently sinful, and God does not give any of His creatures the right to sin.

No, I voted for Congressman Paul in the Primaries. Yes, I think Huckabee is too liberal, particularly on economic issues (not in the classical "liberal" sense, either). There are so many things laughable about this thread.

First, that Christians think they invented and have a monopoly on marriage. Sorry, but you don't. You neither own the institution nor the word. People were getting married long before being afflicted with your own form of mass delusion, and they will probably be getting married long after it dies out.

Second, you're right, this is a religious issue. The government should not have a say in marriage. But they do, and as long as they do, they have absolutely no right to use it to grant benefits to certain people and deny them to others. This is mainly a problem with taxation. Take away all tax and social benefits from "marriage" and you can keep it. Trust me, I don't want to be a part of your religion any more than you want me in it.

Third, since you're saying it's up to the religions to define and perform marriage, then you need to stop following that up with the complete bullshit statement that this means gays should not be allowed to marry. There is no one "Christian" church, and no one Christian position on this topic. So if a religious group wants to marry gays, what exactly gives you the right to stop them?

And to the anti-gay King Theocrat, no, we do not choose to be gay. Who in their right minds would choose to be gay and know that for the rest of their lives they have to put up with the kind of bigotry and stupidity that you and you ilk spout on a daily basis? Out of curiosity, when was the first time that you decided you were going to be attracted to women? Did both sexes turn you on before that point?

Trust me, I don't care about your religion. I don't care about your practices or your beliefs. I don't want anything to do with it. But that also means that you need to keep your religious beliefs out of my life. When religious people decide they have the monopoly on morality and feel they should enforce their own draconian views on the world we end up with things like the crusades, the inquisition, the holocaust, people flying planes into buildings, and mass suicide. What I find completely amusing is homosexuals think they have the right and authority to usurp whatever they want, impose it on us, and then pretend we are enforcing on them when we defend ourselves, which is the current path both politically and spiritually.

Great spin-job. Homosexuality may not be 100% an act of volition, but it is something can you choose to do or not to do. 50% of homosexuals have or will claim to be heterosexual. Homosexuals claim they didn't choose this, and that may be partially true through abuse or trauma, but in all actuality we all can choose. I have worked with lesbians who knew they shouldn't be lesbians, but from abuse they felt compelled to continue, but they KNEW it was wrong.

Those who return back to a heterosexual lifestyle aren't frequently talked about, and many times black-listed from any exposing that it's possible. The media doesn't like covering it, and when actors or singers revert back to a normal life they are typically black-listed from any major roles. If that's not hypocrisy from the elite I don't know what is.

My point, and the points of others, is you want to impose exactly the same imposition on us as we want you to accept. You want us to accept Mrs. Jane and Mary Smith and we will not accept it, nor do we want to be sued for not accepting it, and we don't you ramming it down our throats.

I know it may be difficult for you to see the other side, but it exists, and it happens everyday as people are refused tenure, people are sued, people are being imprisoned in Europe, and those laws are coming here. Don't think this issue is a one way street. We want the natural law imposed even when those people don't follow God's law.

Some children have netheir as result of being dead beats, drug addicts. being irresponsible and unstable. Both are sometimes unfit to even have children in their lives and some gay/lesbian couples would be more fit than those types would be, of course depending on the gay/lesbian type of lifestyle. Granted a good mother and father is a lucky blessing to have for a childhood, but doesn't always end up like that for the child. If two professionals are responsible men/women living together and they are able to take on a paternal role some unfit straight couples are unable to handle then there shouldn't be a problem. Because once homosexuals are legally "married", employers will be forced to provide medical and life insurance to gay "spouses" the same way they cover heterosexual spouses. Since homosexuals (men at least) have far more health problems and die on average 20 years earlier than straight men, this means that my health insurance rates will be forced up to pay for their lifestyle. There's just one example for you.
