(Knowingly) inducing people to waste their time and money, under false pretenses and for the benefit of the defrauders, is not legal. And that's what happened in Reno!

All those that wasted their time and money going to Reno under color of quorum should file civil suits, to recover their expenses, against those that falsely represented the purpose of the convention.

You'd just have to prove that the McCain people had planned the walk out ahead of time, yet allowed the farce to continue until they were sure they were losing.

Also, alternates should sue those cut-and-runners that wouldn't surrender their badges to their districts' alternates.

This is rediculous. Considering the 2 major parties have a total monopoly of political power in the US backed by the media and other indusries, the courts should step in and make them play fair.

But of course this is all be design. A major part of the government we have (the 2 partys and their structure) are both not elected and not bound by any rules whatsoever. In theory you could just vote the party out, not in brainwashed propoganda USA though.

Also this 'insurgent campaign' spin is crap as we well know. Delegates were elected by the people, they should be going, end of story.

When the NV GOP issued the information on the convention to elected delegates from the counties, there was a charge. If it is a foregone conclusion that McCain delegates only must attend...when McCain came in third in this State behind Romney (1st, who at that time has suspended) and Ron Paul (2nd), doesn't that reek of manipulation making the convention little more than a fundraiser. Why go to any of the political conventions if it is the RNC in DC who decides the candidate. I say, each and every time, it must be the complete process done in parlimentary fashion and the delegates, not the party, who nominates the candidate. This heavy-handedness is simply replacing the old with more of the same and since this country is headed into a huge hole fast...we must do everything we can to stand up to the dictates of the RNC, imo.

At the Minnesota convention they threatened us with the FEC, claiming that we were interfering with a national election by distributing Ron Paul friendly material. Take the NV matter to the FEC.
We've known for years that judges are as worthless as the politicians that appoint them.

The FEC "problem" is that there is not enough "members" on the commision to form a qurom in order to cite ANYBODY for ANY "violatins." Guess "who" is "responsible" to "appoint" those members to that commitee? The "Nevada situation" is going to make the activities in Menniapolis very tentious at best. Any more of these blaint disregards for "LAW" prior to the convention "could" ignite a powderkeg. That could be the entire motivation behing all of this. BE CAREFUL!!!

What are you talking about? This kind of shit has already happened in previous NV GOP conventions and nothing changed. It appears to have only gotten WORSE! Please explain what you mean by "we win." This isn't grade school where you can just tattle on someone when they aren't playing fair.

nothing would happen before the election is over...they delay all reviews before elections until after the election

It has been a battle every step of the way, and while we hoped for fairness from the courts, it pretty much went the way we expected it would go.
Its on to phase two, the battle continues- there are other avenues to pursue and explore here in Nevada and Wash. before St.Paul.
We are not done. We are not finished. We are still here. We won't lay down and go away. we haven't lost sight of the big picture either.
There are a host of freedom loving, Constitution supporting people running for office here in Nevada and they are getting support from this movement.
One office at a time if it has to be, but we will keep the goal in sight and the message in our hearts.

Party rules are a contract among party members, are they not? If some members violate that contract by ignoring the rules could they not be considered to be in breach of contract or at least their actions invalidated by the terms of their contract?

Is there some rule that allows them to select their own slate? Are there conditions that must occur before they can do that? Are there no other cases in history where the courts have forced the parties to adhere to their own rules?

Saying internal party disputes are best left to political parties and not judges, Washoe District Judge Jerry Polaha rejected a lawsuit by a group of disaffected Republicans trying to get to the party's national convention.

those lower-level "judges" seem to routinely pull these stunts in order to shift responsibility and thwart justice. the remedy is to appeal, but that is very expensive and few are able to continue. getting true justice has become increasingly difficult if not impossible in this country..... woe is us!
