PPP in their polling showed that whole a Haley endorsement didn't sway many, a Demint endorsement was worth 19 points. I think it was in the cross tabs from a poll last week. Demint is going to wait before he endorses. See what happens in a debate or 2 first. An endorsement would be enormous.
Yes, he needs to come out soon with an official endorsement.A DeMint endorsement would be huge and a game changer in SC. We already have some momentum, but that would push us over the top.
There's an interesting political dynamic to all of this. A prominent Republican who endorses Paul will probably be disliked, at least temporarily, by the party.... but he stands to gain a ridiculously large, active, and donation-prone, following for doing so - especially if he can paint himself as a Rebel or Maverick for doing so. From a strictly political, completely unprincipled standpoint, it is an intriguing thing to consider.
I'm in Greenville, SC listening to Gallagher. Hes got DeMint on and DeMint keeps talking about Paul. He hasn't even mentioned anyone else. keeps saying to pick the real conservative. theirs a choice between the big Government "conservative" and a real conservative and South Carolina voters need to make the right choice. IMO its a great interview for not endorsing Paul. real positives for Paul in their.

Again, don't fall for it.
DeMint has been about as friendly as a GOP politician can be to Dr. Paul while still remaining in the good graces of the GOP establishment. If you are an inflexible "demand perfection!" sort, you will only see the warts on everybody. Politics is a messy game. It's shades of gray and success depends upon seeing clearly.
My $.02

I saw some sort of poll this morning on tv that was taken in S. Carolina. The question to voters was something like which politican's endorsement would carry the most weight for your vote for a candidate, and Demint was at the top of the list with the highest percentage. He probably does like Paul best but to actually come out and endorse him, would require to step out of line with the establishment. The question is does he or anyone else have the backbone to do it. It sounds like he's sort of trying to influence people without actually coming out personally with an endorsement. But I'll take it just the same!

"One of the things that's hurt the so-called conservative alternative is saying negative things about Ron Paul," DeMint told conservative radio host Laura Ingraham. "I'd like to see a Republican party that embraces a lot of the libertarian ideas."
“I’m still not going to endorse, Mark, because Republicans are yet united and I want to focus on the Senate,” he said. “I think whoever gets elected as a Republican, I want to help deliver a conservative Senate, otherwise it doesn’t matter who is in the White House.”
Later in the program, DeMint predicted a Romney win in his state.
