ATTN!!! Ron Paul signs are gone

Down here in GA, we put out around 20 one night and less than a week later, most are gone. We did notice that two Huckabee signs survived....

Hmmm....

Our new plan is for every Huckabee sign (no, there aren't that many), we place Ron Paul signs on each side. Then we will see what comes down.

Imagine driving down the highway and seeing Ron Paul bumper stickers on guard rails mile after mile after mile. This was done here in Mississippi for Trent Lott and it works. I would automatically start looking for the next guard rail just to see if it would have a sticker. And yes, the name is readable while driving.

This one just happens to have survived 4 years right outside my town!

Imagine Ron Paul stickers all over the country, every driver would see them.

Note, PLEASE DO NOT place stickers on Road Signs or in such a way that they obscure information or constitute a safety hazard.

I definitely can't either (I have two toddlers, one is a nursling, so no leaving them and making them sleep in the car overnight would probably land them in foster care, lol!).

But, if by some wild chance I could round up a crazy or two (unlikely, but I'll try) who would try it, where do you think they're disappearing from the most and fastest?

Have you sent out something to all the local Meetups?

I seriously doubt this is a code enforcement issue because he's talking about 4 different counties with 4 very different ways of dealing with that and we're definitely in the clear right now for political signs (others are up and staying up, especially local stuff). You could check with county code enforcement (they keep the signs for a little while), but chances are it's some bozo who hates RP or another campaign in which case they're ending up in the trash. But, unless we catch someone, there's not much of a headline there.

The Code Enforcement people here in Walton have NO problem with our signs right now. I personally talked to them today. So, they're not an issue. I also went through their piles today to gather some H-stakes and there were no RP signs in the piles.

We definitely don't have enough to keep putting them out if they're being pulled up. Supplies are very short.

I would've done all of this tomorow, but I just found out I'm being called in to work tomorow (my off day, fucking military), so I cant. There's another Bay County user here, i'll PM him here in a minute.

We had one disappear by Wal-Mart in Destin, but the rest of the ones I've put up are still out. I was just in Panama City on Saturday and they're *everywhere*. I haven't done the trip out to P'cola in a while though. The Navarre people mostly had them on private property, so having those taken down would be an issue.

We did a real good sign blitz here in Panama City and Panama City Beach. Most of the signs in town are still up. The ones on Back Beach Rd were taken down by Panama City Beach code enforcement as were the Mitt Romney signs. One of our people has talked to PCB code enforcement and they told him we were inside the right of way, but said we could get the signs back at no charge and put them back up as long as we were compliant. Said he was friendly. Our guy got the signs back!

They will go back up (with more discretion of course).

Just wait til our next batch of signs comes in next week! You ain't seen nuttin yet.

I just put up 5 signs around my neighborhood last night and one has already been taken down. Wasnt even up for 24 hours, sigh.

2 more were taken down so now out of the 5 I put up on Sunday night, only 2 are left Tuesday morning. ARG.

This kind of monkey business happened in Iowa too. The interns(paid college students) of Romney in each city are probably encouraged to do this kind of behaviour.

Nah, I wouldn't. Because I'm part of the rEVOLution and I'm above all of that crap. (Thankfully, that's why I married a man who isn't!)

Seriously though, Jorge has suggested Crisco. I doubt people would want to make a huge mess.

And the sticker idea could work if used wisely. Otherwise, people may see it as RL spam and not vote for Ron Paul.

I read the post about not being able to put flyers in peoples mailboxes, but around here, people wedge them between the flag on the mailbox and the box itself. Is this legal? If so, you could just take flyers, fold them up, and slide them between the flag on the box...you can't miss it!

I'm sure people do this but as far as I understand it's illegal. Keep off the mail box.

I put up about 8 more in Walton County tonight. They should be ok in Walton for the most part (I'm a little concerned about the ones we put in the medians, but they should last a week at least).

I'm going to see if I can get one of my Okaloosa guys to check code enforcement over there for any signs (although I'm pretty sure at least a few weren't pulled up by them).

We had one sign in Destin near Home Depot that was there at 11am when a friend passed by and gone at 2pm when I passed by.

We're saving the big signs for the Sunday before the primary.

Also, judge how much play (how many views) a sign will get before it's possibly removed. A sign at a major intersection can get more play in one day than a sign at a slower intersection can in one week. It's also usually removed faster, so it's a balance.

Yeah we haven't put up many of the large ones (2x4ft). Right now they're only going up if we have permission from a private property owner with highway frontage. They'll get pulled in two seconds flat in my county because of their size, so we'll put those up when we're prepared to lose them.

I still have a few McCain signs in my car that I took down, but those were placed in public property which is illegal in Iowa. Doing my job as a civil servant! =P

Someone stoled my bumper sticker I got RP signs on the inside of my windows so the RP sign in the yard doesn't quite stick out anymore
