ATTN: Ohio Voter Registration

http://www.sos.state.oh.us/sos/PublicAffairs/VoterInfoGuide.aspx?Section=14

If I'm reading this correctly, your application must be postmarked or "done" 30 days prior to the election process you wish to vote in.

I'm not entirely sure about changing party affiliations though. I think you can change that the day of voting.

Can someone confirm that? The SOS office isn't answering right now.

30 days - Correct (try not to cut it short).

Party Affiliation: Correct. Just ask for either the Republican ballot when you go to cast your vote.

"Party Affiliation" really doesn't mean much when to comes to voting in Ohio. By requesting either a Republican or Democrat ballot, they change what party you are affiliated with in their voter registration database.

Doing this is the only way for independents to take part in the primaries. Party affiliation means nothing else.

So we don't have much time here in Ohio.

We need to get information to people who are not registered to vote. Notify them that they can ask for a Republican ballot when they vote in the primary and this will change their affiliation by default.

The big thing is getting them registered before Feb 5th.
