Sorry. I got out at 15 1/2 as an E-6.
Ain't a damn thing to be sorry about that!

I wonder if Ermey thinks Paul is too mamby-pamby. Ermey seems pretty hard core to me. Ready to kill kill kill.
I think there is also an Ozzy Ozbourne version too. Good luck understanding what he says lol.Wow. This led to an interesting Google search. On top of some fascinating commercial endorsements, did you know R. Lee Ermey made voice-overs for Garmin & TomTom GPS systems?
Some snippets excluded from the video include:
"Get on the Ferry, Fairy!"
"Might not be a bad idea to make a U-Turn, Numbnuts!"
"You grabastic piece of civilian shit, Enter the roundabout!"
There's a slim chance Ermey can be contacted @ http://www.rleeermey.com/forms/feedback.htm
Who out there is an E-9 decorated combat vet w/ balls of brass? Someone that is (relatively, I'm a vet myself) spotless. Step up. The 'jack-wagon' commercials you could make for Paul would be priceless. People have grown up on the principle that it is the non-coms that run the military. You could be a much sought after speaker. If this seems like your thing then just do it. Please. Citizens take combat decorated non-com individuals in higher esteem as generals. Volunteer yourself to the campaign.

Maybe you should have started that paragraph with "LISTEN UP YOU MAGGOTS!". Might have got a better response.![]()
My experience after 10 years in is that those who make it to E-8 or E-9 are thoroughly brainwashed. Critical thinking is not on their MTOE. I'd love to be proved wrong, but I don't hold much hope.
My dad retired after 20 as an E-8, and he was very much against our current military entanglements. Unfortuantely, he died in Jan 2010. (Sorry typo. He was E-8).
