I just received a Primary Voter Guide from the American Family Association. According to their "non partisan" guide, Mike Huckabee is the guy I should be voting for.

See: http://outbound.afa.net/track?type=...tra=&&&100&&&http://www.afa.net/pdfs/08vg.pdf

Here's the email I just sent to the AFA at their contact page http://faq.afa.net/index.php?option=com_contact&task=view&contact_id=1&Itemid=70

Thank you for the obviously biased Primary ballot guide I just received.

I am very disappointed to see that you failed to mention that all the candidates but Ron Paul support the intrusive RealID bill which if you've read Revelation should sound vaguely familiar.

Additionally, you have two items on there about changing the Constitution. Dr. Paul is the only one of them who by his record is committed to preserving the Constitution instead of bypassing it.

Dr. Paul's pro-life record is second to none, one of his priorities is to get Roe V. Wade overturned. How could you not list that issue in your guide?

The family values voters and Christian Right have become so absorbed in the culture wars that nothing short of a federal ban on abortion will suffice. Traditionally, these groups understood that federalism was the great protector of state and local interests, and that abortion would most likely not have been mainstreamed without nationalization. Alas, those sentiments are all but gone. The cultural conservatives have been wholly corrupted since their entrance into the political arena 25 years ago, and care little for the constitution, limited government, or federalism. This is why they have stopped crying for the overturn of Roe v. Wade. I suspect that many of them don't even know the constitutional peculiarities of the actual case.

I would like to add that I am neither a Christian nor a California resident so I have no idea how they got my email address

"I received the 2008 Christian Voter Guide

Sorry. As a true Christian, I will be supporting Ron Paul for President.

God bless."

As a Christian, the February Primaries impact your family, the economy, taxes, education and quality of life in California.

This election, key issues of marriage, abortion and religious liberty will be impacted by the new President.

And the new President will appoint two—or even three—new Supreme Court justices that will impact your kids and even your grandkids.

That's why you need to be careful...

Local and state initiatives can be confusing and tricky. Don't be misled into voting against your values by deceptive political advertising.

And the candidates: Don't believe the TV commercials, ads or mailers. They are filled with lies and distortions.
Below are researched recommendations from a conservative Christian worldview:

President:
Former Governor Mike Huckabee (R)

California Initiatives:

Proposition 91 Transportation Funds—Yes

Proposition 92 Community Colleges. Funding. Governance. Fees—No

Proposition 93 Limits on Legislators—No

Proposition 94–97 Gaming Compacts:

Vote Yes If you have no moral opposition to gambling, as the compacts will bring in large revenue to the state.

Vote No If you are morally opposed to gambling. However, it will not stop gambling and will probably produce worse compacts in the future that are not as favorable.

55th Assembly District—Herb Peters
For local initiatives and bonds, go to ElectionForum.org. There you'll find extensive recommendations listed by county.

If you have any questions, email me at [email protected]. Please send this to as many friends as you can. This election, make sure your vote reflects your values.

Sincerely,

Craig A. Huey

AFA: "We report, you decide."

Looks like the Democrats really hate America and all the Republicans are just the same except for Huckabee who stands for all the right things.

Accepting the mark.....this is the kinda thing that normally has evangelicals all up in arms shouting end of the world, but somehow this time around its no big deal. I guess since we are fighting jihadists no one cares? Makes no sense.

The book of Revalations, new testament.

Huckabee stands for all the right things? He just says he does.
The current Republicans and Democrats are all the same.
It is time for a REAL change.

Wait, you're not serious, are you?

You mean this mark:

6And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

17And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

18Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

How is the RealID like that at all?

I mean, beyond them both being crazy :P

Yes that mark, the real ID is just another step towards the mark of the beast.

Lets remember that the real ID prevents people from opening up a bank account, entering a federal building and probably even travelling abroad.

Also the Real ID is open ended when it comes to other means of verification. Such as retinal scans, dna samples, implantable microchips etc...

Also doesnt help that President Bush gave his speech on the Real ID on June 6th, 2006 or 6/6/6.

All you have to do to win the Christian vote (from typical Christians) is say you are a Christian and talk about God alot. Heck- you can even *LIE* about having a theology degree- and they'll forgive you!
I am a Christian and so is my husband and my family. My dad actually *has* at theology degree from Seminary. He is mad at Huckabee.
I always go back to Matthew 6:5-6:
"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."

CNN was saying tonight how Huckabee is using Godtube.com for advertising his campaign.

So I went there to look and they have a poll there which Huckabee is winning and which does not include Ron Paul.

Please everyone write to Godtube (their email is on their website) and ask them to please include Dr. Paul in this poll.

His Christian record is comparable to none. In particular, he doesn't lie constantly like Huckabee (who lied about having a theology degree).

Christians need to learn about Dr. Paul.

Take a Chill Pill!

That brochure shows that if you like Huckabee but don't like the war, Dr. Paul is the next most logical choice. 70% of people are against the war. :)

This is honestly the most bizarre opinion about the RealID I've ever come across.

Plus, the number is 6/1/6 :P

Plus, if you're Messianic Christian, isn't this a good thing? I read to the end of the chapter, and I'm pretty sure Jesus comes back and saves everyone who deserves it.

I love the source for "Opposes Gay Pride":

17) There is no public record of candidate ever supporting "Gay Pride Day" as a private citizen or an elected official.

"Hah! It doesn't exist! So it must be right!"

On that same Voters Guide it has a line Opposes Immediate Withdrawal of Troops from Iraq. Dr. Paul is the ONLY one with a NO, all the others show YES.

Or am I going blind? I e-mailed thru their form letter.

^That's right - Dr. Paul does not OPPOSE immediate withdrawal of troops from Iraq, i.e. he supports it.

I have no idea why that's an issue where the AFA wants the answer to be yes, though. What does that have to do with the family? In fact, they should want the answer to be "no," since war destroys families not only through death, but also separation and problems with PTSD!

These voter guides have never failed to amaze me in how they can twist and turn the issue in question so that the candidate it supports has the "right" answer to it.
