Atheists for Ron Paul - Let's Gather for a Rational Discussion before the Debate tonight.

Are you just trying to piss people off?

(I'm atheist btw)

He is trying to generate controversy so he can debate anyone with religious beliefs, and when the debate has ended, he will continue screaming and shouting from the rooftops hoping that someone is listening to him.

When he goes home after he realizes everyone hates him, he will go to reddit, go to r/Atheism, make a post about it and will continue the never-ending cirlclejerk.

All that, due to what are probably problems developing from childhood, and his everlasting need for attention.

Why try to piss off the Christians?

Btw,i am not Christian, but i support their right to be.

This shouldn't piss anyone off. I wasn't pissed off at the Christian prayer thread. I was highlighting the absurdity of a "debate prayer" thread with the same title. You also obviously don't support my right to be an Atheist. Why didn't you rate the Christian prayer thread 1-star?

Honestly, I'm more concerned with ending irrational trust in the state than ending irrational faith and superstition in deities/mysticism. I say this as an unapologetic Atheist.

I would much prefer a truly free society where people consciously chose to follow religion than a truly authoritarian and oppressive society/state where people on the whole had a lack of belief in God(s).

I don't think it ought to be an issue to emphasize on a political front, personally. Large tents and all of that.

What time is the debate and how do I watch it?

Edit: And Should I watch it or is it going to be extremely boring?

From their perspective it's not absurd. Some people, for whatever reason, find their faith to be comforting. Whatever floats their boat is what I say. I only hold it against them when they begin to thump the bible rather than read it

Oh i know you made this thread "tongue in cheek",i just don't see the point of it.

Yes we are.

I'm agnostic since the existence of a "creator" cannot be proved or disproved. Ever. Believe what strikes you as the truth, and nothing else, but please don't try to convert me. Also, from a Christian/Jewish/Muslim POV why am I going to hell? Because I don't believe? What about all those cavemen before the covenant? Were they damned by chronology? The only thing that bugs me about revealed religion... everyone else is going to hell.

Wait, what's with the double standard here? I seem to recall a "Christians for Ron Paul" thread of some sort that involved prayers or something in grassroots. Why was this thread moved to religion when nobody even complained on the Christian thread?

Edit: I missed the spaghetti part. No wonder this got moved.

Atheists, Pastafarians, Dudeists, Jedi, or anyone else who is a friend of Ron Paul is a friend of mine.

Same here, as long as they're not hypocrites who denounce "Bible thumpers" yet do the exact same thing with their atheistic religion like the OP does.

I'm not pissed off at the Christian thread. Also, I question your non-belief.

I was amused by the thread title, but sorely disappointed to see that in lieu of rational discussion you blathered on about pasta in the OP like an idiot. Bad show. Should have stuck to your premise and at least made an effort to have a rational discussion. But perhaps I ask too much.

Why are titles tweeted? What purpose can this possibly serve?

Ask the person who does it--if you can figure out who it is. This person, by the way, appears not to be a member, as they don't tweet titles from subforums that non-members cannot access.

Only thing more annoying than those trying to cram belief down others' throats is those trying to cram down non-belief down others' throats.

Never happens. Only those with a belief system--including atheists, who believe there is no God--get obnoxious and prosthelytize. Agnostics tend to be very polite about the whole thing, God bless 'em.

Because you have yet to empirically prove to me the OP's contention that pasta can transit airspace in conditions other than a food fight.

I've always found that the two most "militant" groups on regards to forcing their beliefs on others are feminists and atheists. Then again, I've never lived near evangelical Zionist Christians!

Agnosticism is perfectly compatible with either Theism or Atheism, since the former refers to knowledge/lack of knowledge and the latter to belief/disbelief.

See Agnostic Atheism (or any of the other possible combinations).

In the meantime, the Agnostics are sitting back having a beer laughing at the rest. :)
