At Debate Tonight, It's Time for RP to be AGGRESSIVE

I know it's not his nature but I think the debate tonight is Ron Paul's last chance to make an impact on the election. Instead of waiting for the moderators to throw him a bone and let him speak, he needs to agressively ATTACK McCain, Romney, & Huckabee and draw them into a confrontation. I want to see more heated back-and-forth like he had with Huckabee & Guiliani in debates past.

At this point, why not? He's got nothing to lose.

All due respect, these debates aren't really debates. They are glorified CUED question-and-answer sessions, designed to limit a candidate's influence over the debate.

Very little exchange happens between the candidates-- which is what defines a true debate. The debates are unfortunately a sham.

30 years ago the average political sound bite was something like 2 minutes. Now it is down to around 10 seconds.

Ron Paul will be easily marginalized once again. As soon as Romney says something negative about McCain, the moderator will ask McCain to respond. Then McCain will say something negative about Romney, and Romney will be asked to respond. They will keep that up throughout the debate and effectively silence Ron Paul.

Ron Paul will be the typical wallflower that he ususally is in these debates. People don't want that. They need to see some assertiveness from a potential leader and RP is just not delivering in that area.

Sadly, even though there are 4 on the stage now. Ron Paul will still not get enough attention. I hope he is planning out good responses to the 3 or 4 minutes they will give him.

I agree, and hope that he has an effective strategy to get in on the cycle.

Will there be only four? 9iu11iani hasn't bowed out yet. I think he wants to get his ego stroked one more time.

What time? What network? Will it be carried nationally (unlike the Florida debate)? Anyone know? Help me out!

just wait until there are only 2 lol, or will they even hold debates then? Hah what morons

I couldn't agree more- with a small exception. He will only be marginalized to the extent that he passively accepts such treatment. That isn't polite or respectful, but it is "giving what we've gotten". This is the time to fight fire with fire and IF he dosen't make a stand here, in the last debate before super tuesday, I'm not sure he ever will.

Dr. Paul must show that he IS presidential timber, and that he is capable of taking control of the issues and the debate. The trick is going to be to come off as authoritative from a postion of concern, and not angry, from a position of desperation.

I think if Ron Paul brings up some good arguments, Mitt and McCain would like to respond to crush Ron Paul once and for all, and that might set up for the ol 1-2 K.O. via Ron.

Trust me, they won't. A debate between Ron Paul and one other candidate can only do damage to those wanting to preserve the establishment. They won't let that happen.

He NEEDS to be. But he won't. There's no reason to think this time it'll be any different. I wish we at least had the Ron from the first Reagan debates, but it seems like we're going to be stuck with the stumbling over his words, talking too fast, passive Ron we've always had.

yes of course speak up - and have about 20 one liners - let paul pop them out interrupting the other 3 as they speak..........
