Please read this front page article in todays San Diego Union Tribune. It was written by a Coply News Service writer. Pay particular attention to the last two paragraphs. This is so much a huge problem for our candidate.

Article

I suggest the following campaign ad. (James Earl Jones voice)

A vote for Ron Paul is not a wasted vote.

A vote for Ron Paul is a statement.

It is a statement of where I want my country to go.

"A sound currency that doesn't steal from our citizens through devaluation."

"The ending of an illegal war, and the avoidance of any others."

"An end of overburdensome taxation allowing the citizens keep the fruits of their labor."

A vote for Ron Paul is a statement of where I want our country to go, and Ron Paul is the only candidate wanting to lead us there.

This is a message I would stress over and over again.

These people are worthless.

I don't find it very American to not vote for someone just because they aren't in the lead or have a high chance of winning.

In fact I find it disguting to the core. Whatever happened to integrity?

Thanks for sharing that. Your ideals are admirable and correct on many levels. They are also sadly, unrealistic.

It has been shown time and time again that an enormous majority of the voting public is clueless. That's also un-american, but it's true. I recently saw an interview with college softmores where more than half couldn't name who was currently vice president. So where does that leave those of us that care and want to impact the voters?

Well, idealists think like you. Vote your conscience, regardless who you think will win and let others do the same. Who ever wins - wins. Majority rules. But thats not what the majority does. As soon as someone goes out and tries to convince another to vote differently, you have left the world of idealism and stepped into the world we live in.

The sad reality is that a large cross section of those who vote, shouldn't without doing some basic reasearch first. But they do. If we accept that this happens, then a logical voter is reasonble to consider that his vote may have greater impact applied strategically, than Idealistically.

I'm not advocating this, I'm just expressing how a lot of people think about this. Many, many folks believe electability is important. It's fine if you don't. A lot of people see the only acceptable victory is the Presidency. It's ok if you don't.

It has been said that the Buchanan campaign (at the highest levels - including Pat himself) never believed the Presidency was attainable. Their goal was to shift the direction of policy. That's not acceptable to me. I will not view that as a victory. I want my vote to help elect the most qualified man possible for the job. I won't allow the most popular person to win, if my vote can elect the 2nd most qualified man for the job

The reality is that none are perfect. Ron Paul is to my way of thinking, the best man for the job by far! But many that would vote for him -won't the minute they believe he is unelectable. That's a reality we have to contend with.

It is my belief that the Mr. Stickney mentioned in the article is a tiny minority. Most Americans are tired of voting for the lesser of two evils. After all if a candidate does not represent your views what makes him YOUR representative? As someone has said this is not a horse race. You don't get a prize for backing the winner. But if you don't back your real choice then you are the loser. This is why the people keep getting the governments they don't want. It is called insanity, doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different result, then complaining when what you get is the same old same old. Having said that I think your ad suggestions are excellent.
