I think we are seeing both a generational shift and also a messy realignment going on here. The political realignment debate is obvious to witness. More to the point of this story is the generational one. I think it's analogous to the Dan Rather v. the internet blogs case. Rather had gotten away with lying about the facts earlier in his career since there was no alternative to challenge the MSM. That era is over. Similarly, the big wig politicos like the MI GOP head are now going to have to adjust to the new realities.
