The unfortunate fact is that these people were not prepared to do what was done in OK - they didn't know how to do it & they didn't have the things they needed to do it with.

And my question is: why not? We had a live stream of their convention. If they can manage to use that technology, why were they not able to get someone on the phone to lead them through this? Had the effort been made I'm SURE someone could have gotten OK on the phone, any one of those people who participated in that convention, to help guide them through.

"I don't want to get arrested." Sometimes that's what it takes. They had a right to be there while the ballots were still being counted but they just left. Why?

We don't need the official campaign to train us on matters of procedure. Blaming the campaign is a poor excuse.

after reading about this stuff. I firmly believe the gop will elect obama unless they nominate Ron Paul. I will never vote for romney because he sucks on every issue and i will never reward the corrupt gop by voting romney. romney is a dead man walking!

The only way we can actually change anything here in AZ is by having everyone become a PC and have them sign up other PCs in their precinct to pull their proxy vote. If we had that going strong since the last election cycle, we would have had zero problems. It's imperative that all RP supporters actually sign up as PCs by the May 30 deadline or we can expect to get fucked over time and time again. BecomeAPC.com

And for those of you calling David Fitzgerald a mole, lol. David's been one of a few people in the state actually doing anything for the past 4 years in this state (why else would we try to elect him as chairman, despite how futile it may have been).


Sad fact is, they could have ended the meeting legally (they didnt) so anything we did ended up being futile. There are people who actually know what they are doing here, and we got a decent chunk of delegates with the deck stacked against us. We need more PCs, plain and simple.

From what I saw it was obvious that they dont know how to proceed. They simply didnt have experience how to organize convention and dont know what to do. They werent prepared for that.(No parliamentarian, no Laptops no pen and paper to write proceedings down). Odd thing was that that guy on a van said he had permission to have a meeting on that parking lot. Did he asked for it right then or was he prepared days ahead? If he prepared id days ahead why werent other preparation been done?

the #1 question should be where were the power hitters from the ron paul campaign? That speaks volumes.

I don't understand that either. How can the campaign be so iffy on communication? I would think Honest Ron could snap his fingers and have a crowd of volunteers pretty much anywhere at anytime. So many people volunteering to phone bank but the campaign can't keep people on track for caucuses with some phone calls? I don't pay attention to it, but I keep hearing people say the Facebook page doesn't even stay updated.

Thanks for you story. It was interesting. It corroborates with what others are saying today about Josh Romney not being boo'd off stage, but that he was boo'd due to trying to endorse a slate which is against the rules. This is all on the live stream, right? It also sounds like they tried to blatantly screw you guys in your district meeting.

I plead guilty as not having become a PC or PD the last time around though I am an alt (and likely seatable del) for our upcoming state convention. After everything we've seen at these caucuses/conventions, it should be abundantly clear that each and every one of us needs to file for precinct captain or precinct delegate positions by the deadline in each respective state. There's nothing more important, also try to get friends and family to do so as well. Once we get our numbers in order and purge the old guard, they will become jaded and fade away.

What if he got permission for meeting "off the parking lot" because it broke the continuation of the convention - on purpose?

A guy from Daily Paul remembers Bachmann having a court case about this very thing, and a judge ruling that the difference between a continuation of the real convention and a rump alternate unrecogonized convention, is that it is continuing to meet on the same grounds?

So Romney rents a nice painted van just off the grounds - and proves that all the delegates "left" the convention site - tricked - so that really did end it?

a rump is when 2 conventions going on at same time, See Reform Party Long Beach Convention. Buchanan vs Heglein

The Paul supporter convention outside was just reconvened from the same convention on the same property because orginal convention never ended - perfectly legal.

Ultimately Buchanan prevailed because his convention was at the orginal site, Hagelin moved his off site.
Hagelin had a rump, a convention going on at same time.

The judge basically said no rules were broken, but the biggest factor was the Hagelin convention was not at the orginal site, and was not a continuation of the orginal convention, but OK is, they did it right.

Is it possible that after OK they had a Romney type 'take control' only to disband it, or was the guy on the RV reliably one of ours?

I also wonder if, since AZ clearly had more people of ours there than the establishment hoped for, the campaign had focused on the state? What I mean is, since it wasn't a caucus state, maybe there wasn't caucus training and they didn't have the parlimentarian and resources as glibly known. They might have had less of an advantage.

David Fitzgerald is 100 percent for ron paul since 2007 ,hes not an insider..he came from the grassroots.
