Roughly thereabouts, but there is also per deim, so the long session ends up around $40k on a W2 and the short session ends up around $20k on a W2. The salary itself is pretty pathetic, but the salary does not account for per deim.
Here is a good chart for "total disbursements"
http://www.carolinatransparency.com/disbursements/?
Notice that my actual "salary" will only be $13,951 while I will have an expense account allowing me to spend $6,708 in job related expenses. I will get a per deim of somewhere around $22k, and due to where I live I'll get travel expenses almost certainly under $1,000
The chart linked above is for the "long session." Note that the short session (2012) will dramatically reduce disbursements back to right around $20k total.
So I'm going to end up getting roughly $40k for 2011 and $20k for 2012.
Not too bad, I've done a lot better in my life, but I could certainly do worse. As long as I save more than I spend, I should be just fine through 2012. After living with literally almost nothing since middle 2007, the legislator pay is going to make me feel rich lol
