April RPPCC FEC Report filed... still $5M on hand = $600K Spent = $0 ROI

wtf $84,000 for web design and hosting and maintenance. Even if they have 2 dedicated server at $300 per month, web design is one time deal and prob around 10-15k (fine throw in $200 per month too), server maintenance can be done for $100 per month/server. It should be around 1k per month total. Sorry but I know something about hosting/design and this sounds like pure bullshit to me. Even 1k per month is too much for a site that is not getting that much traffic anymore. why the hell did they pay $84,747 for something that should cost them around $1000-$2000?????

I think whoever is doing hosting, design is ripping off the campaign big time.

I do web design work for top companies - I charge $100 an hour and am worth every penny. The outsourced design specs for branding can go 50k easy, and not a lick of development has begun.

Yeah, but... this was the bill for MARCH of 2008.

The website design was established last summer and "enhanced" in the fall and early winter... what was really done during MARCH that was worthy of 40K ?

(BTW the 84K was actually three invoices from three separate companies, Terra Eclipse with less than 40K, Rackspace Hosting for +40K, and someone else with a minor < $500 bill).

My bet is that those two invoices included either "delayed" charges or some other BS (maybe to do with the "DailyDose" blog-&-comment thingee).

I dont think so. I also wish the staff would do more, but come on. Paul isnt a frauding anyone. He can keep my 500 i gave him and ild give more if i had it. this is a once in a lifetime thing. another ron paul wont come around in our lifetimes.

Actually, since essentially ALL of the money raised after the NH primary has never been spent... and there never was even a PLAN for how to spend it (any more than GWB ever had a "plan" to get out of Iraq)...

That to my mind is essentially raising money under "false pretense" ... durn near equivalent of fraud.

And since the campaign is obviously NOT using NOR DOES IT HAVE ANY PLANS TO use the money for ACTUAL CAMPAIGNING (in any sense of the word that has meaning)... and are apparently "fishing around" for ideas of what to use it for... I think the only ETHICAL thing is to refund it to the people who donated it.

Oh, and the "Campaign" itself is actually NOT Ron Paul... it's a separate legal entity that is using his name and purportedly running a campaign for him.

How do you know this? Do you have any kind of sources to back this up?

Earlier last week, the official campaign staff were soliciting ideas on what to do with the money to be discussed at a meeting last Friday. We know the same people, yes. (They think they're incompetently lead too).

I was then at GATA Thurs-Sat. Needless to say, I wasn't on the short list of people being invited after I exposed them as out of their leagues last year hoping they'd either learn from their mistakes or bring on some leadership at the top to guide them.

until someone calls them and asks them what they intend to spend it on... you're wasting your time whining

I've BEEN calling them, and telling them exactly how they can spend it in South Dakota. Debbie Hopper is the person at the campaign 've been working with, and we're both hitting a brick wall.

They've got $5 million in the bank.

South Dakota could be completely saturated with Newspaper Ads, Billboards, and Robo-Push calls to both Democrat and Republican voters with only about $30,000.

It's like the campaign is PLANNING on having money left over for his Liberty PAC

This ticks me off, because I donated money to his presidential campaign. Not his liberty PAC.

With all due respect Bradley, you might want to rephrase the first part of the second sentence. On first read, it sounds like you exposed GATA. There's nothing to expose. GATA exposes, not the other way around. ;-)

I guess we'll find out today if the return on investment is zero. I do hope they make a serious push in South Dakota and New Mexico--I have a good feeling about both states. A win today would certainly change everything...

Ah, sorry, right. Actually, I was referring to the RP HQ not GATA. :o

Thanks for the heads up Bradley. Unbelievable. Look, I don't regret donating, because as I see it, it was a once in a lifetime opportunity. My family donated to the limit because I thought he needed the money to bring in the heavy hitters to make this thing happen, not to support the incompetent yes-men who sunk this campaign into the ground. Well, I hope at least they're enjoying my money with some good whiskey, fine cigars and fast women. Bastards. A Patriot and his money are soon parted. :D
