I feel like I've hit a roadblock while doing my canvassing as a precinct leader. I'm having a REAL tough time convincing people that our good Dr. Paul is NOT a racist.

Unfortunately, I can't provide them any proof that Ron Paul DIDN'T write those articles. :(

WHAT CAN I DO?

I would imagine that about 1% of the people that you speak to have any clue about the newsletter story. Are you trolling? Its getting too obvious with all the newsletter posts about who is trolling....

Oh please. Enough with the troll accusations. I myself believe Ron Paul doesn't have a racist bone in his body. But that's me. No matter how I try to convey my own beliefs to someone else it doesn't work to those who seemingly WANT to see him as racist? Do I try to inform these people? or do I just move on?

The problem is that every word Ron Paul has ever said refutes the newsletters... But that doesn't matter.

Once a claim is made by the media, even on evidence as slim as something someone else wrote on his letterhead decades ago, there is no possible way to fight it. If you say he isn't a racist, all that will do is reinforce the word racist with Ron Paul... It's a dirty trick and they know damn well the were doing it.

Wolf Blitzer even said HE KNEW FOR A FACT that what was written on that letterhead sounded NOTHING like anything Ron Paul had ever said, yet he proceeded to make the allegations anyway.

That was INTENTIONAL.

There are ROCK SOLID VIDEO replays of the other candidates being PROUDLY racist, but the media chooses to ignore that and bring up some racist rants found in a library in Kansas that were written on his letterhead while he was out of Congress delivering babies.

And then they try to say it was for 20 years, when it was ALL in the early 90's (All of the other shit was him bashing on the fed and the CFR and such, which he always has done, and rightfully so.)

please

edit the title of your thread... it doesnt help to have RP and racist in the same sentence EVER!

thanks for being a smart cookie next time...
unless youre a troll... then FU!

All you can do is move on.
People that live at that social tone and suck up the
MSM's propaganda without doing research on Dr. Paul's
record are lost souls and not responsible citizens. They live in a world of hearsay
and juicy gossip and probably watch Springer.
Don't waste your time.
Leave some campaign material and move on.

Just move on. There are people who don't want to support Ron Paul. If it weren't racism it would be 9/11 truth or rude supporters or the gold standard or something, anything, just don't make me think. Triage. Some cannot be saved.

Can't prove a negative.

However, after 30 years in the public spotlight as a politician, nobody has been able to come up with a single soundbite of Ron Paul saying anything remotely racist.

The writer of the original article has had his credibility and motives questioned. He is a staunch RG supporter and is known around DC as a professional muckraker.

Ron Paul has made it clear that, as a strict constitutionalist, he is for protecting every single citizen's God given rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness - regardless of color or belief.

Well I was thinking over his long career as a physician he surely treated many people from all races. If he had a problem with it I'm certain he would've slipped up and said or did something that people would take notice of. But really there's nothing. I wish more of his colleagues and maybe even long-time patients of ethnic descent would come forward and speak in his defense. Also, whoever the hell wrote those articles. Getting their name or names and interviewing those creeps. I believe that would clear this whole thing up.

This threat contains the best hard evidence that I've seen (quoted below).
SUMMARY: The newsletter bashed Dr. King & the MLK holiday - Ron Paul voted for the MLK holiday in Congress.
http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=88510

One of Kirchick's excerpts from the "Ron Paul Political Report" newsletter bashes the MLK Holiday saying: "Are we supposed to honor this 'Christian minister' and lying socialist satyr with a holiday that puts him on par with George Washington?" See this newsletter excerpt here: http://www.tnr.com/downloads/december1990.pdf

How odd then, that PolitiFact.com chooses to criticize Ron Paul in this manner: "An examination of Paul’s record shows that although he usually adheres to his principle, he has sometimes voted for programs that aren’t “expressly authorized” in the Constitution. For example, in the late 1970s and early 1980s, he voted to authorize the continuing operation of NASA and to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday on the third Monday in January."

It's too bad our mysterious ghostwriter didn't know that Ron Paul had voted for a holiday for the "lying socialist satyr" ostensibly breaking with his own Constitutional principles to do so!!!!

Good job, Commander!

I have spoken to many people sinc ethis has happened and not one person has said anything to me.

It's interesting that you are running into people who have.

Is anyone else having this issue?

Newsletters aren't about Paul

The newsletter flap is a hitpiece aimed at Lew Rockwell NOT Paul. RP and us are collateral damage in a family feud between the beltway neolibertarians and the Ludwif Von Mises institute. The guys at Reason and CATO hate lew rockwell so much they are willing to take out our whole campaign just to get him.

Don't let them! We can still pull this out.
We just can't trust our neolib brothers.

Assholes make Fox news look fair and balanced.

I also doubt your story. The "racist" theme has ONLY been picked up by second-rate bloggers that you would have to know to google in order to find these accusations.

The average SHEEP doesnt' care about politics, doesn't know enough about Ron Paul to know he's been accused by random internet bloggers as a racist.

The average Sheep may or may not watch the national news, which has never bought up these accusations because they aren't true.

So you come on here and say you are having trouble canvassing because everyone asks about this.....

Yeah, right. Sorry, dude, I think this is a case of "the exaggerations"....

I find suspicious - opening a NEW thread for something being discussed right here in the top topics numerous times. Why didn't you post to an existing thread?

Troll. Period. I work with a number of folks who keep up with politics and no one has heard of it. I am getting tired of a new thread every ten minutes about this. Free speech is great, maybe everyone that wants to make a new thread about it ever ten seconds should go create a im a troll for ron paul message board.
