hesitant to call it a diet, cause supposedly it's a lifestyle, like vegetarianism, etc.

google paleo diet or caveman diet if you've never heard of it

articles been all over lewrockwell

ive read about it but havent tried it out. Im sorta following a diet like it but its not completely paleo.

Been looking into this..

Supposedly vegetarians can eat this diet if they supplement egg protein powder, Vitamin B12 (1 mg per day), Taurine (1 gram per day), Carnosine (800 mg per day) and Carnitine (400 mg per day)

Probably would start eating more fishies.

Paleolithic ? Meat , fish , nuts & berries ? It probably is close to what I eat mostly .

not even necessarily lean meats

fats / lards are good

btw i supplement w/ fish oils; dont eat nearly enough fish to get omega ratio where i think it belongs

Yeah, me and a buddy tried it this summer. We stuck to the naturals. We ate a lot of things that weren't processed or ate things that were processes as little as we could find. It's really hard. Not necessarily hard eating the things but actually finding the things. I would recommend the diet. It really doesn't matter what you eat as long as you exercise enough in my opinion. I along with others I'm sure don't exercise nearly enough where we can eat whatever we want. I try and stick to the paleo diet but like I said it's not easy.

Thanks, I was curious why the webpage I read about it at kept saying "lean meat" when we used to eat more gamey, fatty meat, and less muscle meat, more fatty organs, etc, so I wasn't sure why they were abandoning that.

At least half of my daily caloric intake comes from raw milk, raw eggs, raw milk kefir & coconut milk kefir, and nuts. I wish I could eat closer to a paleo diet, but money and time just don't permit at the moment.

Well I'm probably not going to cut out the dairy, just the grains and maybe cut back on the legumes, both of which I've been cutting back on lately anyway.

Kefir and yogurt are really good for you, so is raw milk in moderation imo.

Going to go with fish oil pills, and more fish than I have been lately.

Lately, I've been taking 1-2 tablespoons of fish oil daily, and eating a couple tins of sardines each week (really high in Omega-3s and RNA). Though, as you may know, when you boost your intake of fish oil, your body's antioxidant requirements increase.

paleo

I do. Virtually no grain (other than rice on occasion) and no legumes. No processed food. A little cheese. The rest is just fresh veggies, high-quality meat, fresh fruit, and nuts. Organic as much as possible. Wild caught fish and grass fed and finished beef. I like it. My dentist is very impressed.

I've been eating mostly primal for quite a while now, but I have a soft spot for peanut butter and sweet potatoes. Eating sweet potatoes post-workout is the best compromise.

EDIT: Oh, and I do Intermittent Fasting too, it's nearly as beneficial as low-carb paleo. If you combine paleo and IF you'll have optimal health.

Switch to almond butter! (Though PB tastes better and i still crave it)

Almond butter is great. Unfortunately I have a food processor and nothing compares to the taste of homemade peanut butter. I've made almond butter, sunflower butter, walnut butter... they all taste good but not as good as peanut butter.

I wish I was still unaware it is a legume, those were the days of guilt-free peanut butter binges.
