Anyone else feel John King should have stood up to Newt?

Newt took a helluva risk acting the way he did at the opening. There are numerous quotes where Newt was very critical of Clinton's infidelity but now Newt says it is not important in a presidential race. King allowed Newt to win by not calling him on this. Why did he back down? If he would have stood up to Newt and called BS on Newt I believe Newt would have fallen flat on his face or blown up.

It kind of felt like the whole thing was orchestrated TBH. So predictable.

I though Newt was abut to walk off. I think in the heat of the moment he probably connected with the viewers and won that exchange. Its disgusting. Looking at Newt Gingrich and his past personal life he is a mockery of the GOP and its, and my values. Speaker Gingrich has been through several divorces, and reported affairs. It has now come out that he even wanted an 'Open Marriage' with his second wife. Newt Gingrich being nominated would be something I could never support

John King wants newt... They were all tooting the newt horn with "how well he answered the 2 chicks (1 is part bird) on 1 guy question, and how he stood up to santorum"

I think he made a huge mistake by saying what she said was false. This will only stir things up between them. I think the last thing he should have done was to leave the whole thing open to future conflict. I hope the press jumps on this. But I was so dissapointed and pissed that John King had no spine. Should have already had quotes from Newt when he was lambasting Clinton. Should never have allowed Newt to have the last word. Could have shown Newt to be the hypocrite he really is.

Clinton wasn't impeached for infidelity .

John King took one for the MSM team. It had to happen, and was "scripted" in how predictable it was.

Social conservative position: "Marriage is between a man and a wife"

Newt's position: "Marriage is between one man and as many wifes as I want!"

Yes lying under oath, but Newt made a huge issue out of Clinton's infidelity and morals at the very time he was cheating on his own wife. When the shoe is on the other foot Newt isn't so happy. Should have nailed him on this. Just can't believe they didn't.

I thought it was odd when he brought up "everyone here had personal pain, or had loved ones who went through pain." Yes Gingrich, but in this case, you inflicted the pain.

Not sure why no candidate will call him out on his hypocrisy and untrustworthiness on the national stage. Not only did was he dishonest to his wife, he was dishonest to the entire country. That's the bigger issue. Yet they all give him the pass.

John King is awful second-rate, throws a huge softball at Newt. Not sure why Wolf isn't the one doing these things. He's way better at interviewing.

Because in general people hate character attacks.

And Newt was complaining about the story being over a decade old and not relevant.. except when it is Ok for him to bring up Ron Paul's 20 year old newsletters

"character matters mr. speaker..." is all he had to say
