Any Suggestions for Campaign Theme song?

I say anything from Tool, they are one of my favorite bands and they are very political.

Lyrics

"Vicarious"

Eye on the TV
'cause tragedy thrills me
Whatever flavour
It happens to be like;
Killed by the husband
Drowned by the ocean
Shot by his own son
She used the poison in his tea
And kissed him goodbye
That's my kind of story
It's no fun 'til someone dies

Don't look at me like
I am a monster
Frown out your one face
But with the other
Stare like a junkie
Into the TV
Stare like a zombie
While the mother
Holds her child
Watches him die
Hands to the sky crying
Why, oh why?
'cause I need to watch things die
From a distance

Vicariously I, live while the whole world dies
You all need it too, don't lie

Why can't we just admit it?
Why can't we just admit it?

We won't give pause until the blood is flowing
Neither the brave nor bold
The writers of stories sold
We won't give pause until the blood is flowing

I need to watch things die
From a good safe distance

Vicariously I, live while the whole world dies
You all feel the same so
Why can't we just admit it?

Blood like rain come down
Drawn on grave and ground

Part vampire
Part warrior
Carnivore and voyeur
Stare at the transmittal
Sing to the death rattle

La, la, la, la, la, la, la-lie

Credulous at best your desire to believe in
Angels in the hearts of men
Pull your head on out
Your head believes it give a listen
Shouldn't have to say it all again
The universe is hostile
So impersonal
Devour to survive, so it is
So it's always been

We all feed on tragedy
It's like blood to a vampire

Vicariously I, live while the whole world dies
Much better you than I

How about The Liberty Song, written in 1768 by John Dickinson? It would be awesome if we could get a musician to update the tune slightly and then have as many Ron Paul supporters as we could gather get together in one spot to record it.

The Liberty Song

Come, join hand in hand, brave Americans all!
And rouse your bold hearts at fair Liberty's call;
No tyrannous acts shall suppress your just claim,
Or stain with dishonor America's name.

Chorus:

In freedom we're born, and in freedom we'll live!
Our purses are ready,
Steady, friends, steady;
Not as slaves, but as free men, our money we'll give.

How sweet are the labors that freemen endure,
That they shall enjoy all the profit, secure,
No more such sweet labors Americans know,
If Britons shall reap what Americans sow. (I'd change "Britons" to "Others")

Chorus:

In freedom we're born, and in freedom we'll live!
Our purses are ready,
Steady, friends, steady;
Not as slaves, but as free men, our money we'll give.

Then join hand in hand brave Americans all,
By uniting we stand, by dividing we fall;
In so righteous a cause let us hope to succeed,
For Heaven approves of each generous deed.

Chorus:

In freedom we're born, and in freedom we'll live!
Our purses are ready,
Steady, friends, steady;
Not as slaves, but as free men, our money we'll give.

Hands down, best one possible is The Minstrel's Song by The Moody Blues.

It's folksy, has a march-like beat, and is a masterpiece of music. It also describes the rEVOLution better than any others I know. It's humble. It's practically written for Ron. It's also quite SHORT which has many advantages in a political campaign.

I don't have a link to the music, unfortunately. I do have the lyrics.

Words - a simple song
A minstrel sings
A way of life in his eyes
Hear, the morning call, of waking birds
When they are singing, bringing
Love - love.

Everywhere love is all around,
Everywhere love is all around.

Now, the winter's gone
Cold wind has blown
The endless stream in our lives
Where the minstrel sings
This simple song
He's always bringing, singing,
Love - love.
Everywhere love is all around,
Everywhere love is all around.

Listen to the one
Who sings of love.
Follow our friend,
Our wandering friend,

Listen to the one,
Who sings of love.
Everywhere love is around,
Around, around.

Hear the nations sing
Our minstrel's song,
As he walks by in their lives
Soon the spring will come,

And everyone will all be singing, bringing
Love - love
Everywhere love is all around,
Everywhere love is all around.

Listen to the one
Who sings of love.
Follow our friend,
Our wandering friend,
Listen to the one,
Who sings of love.
Everywhere love is around,
Around, around.

I'm tellin ya, it's perfect. ;) You've got to hear it to understand how excellent it is. The music starts slow and builds into a triumphant hymn by the end. This is one of the Moody Blues' best songs. It just brings LOVE PEACE HOPE relentlessly into your mind. It sets a scene of Winter turning to Spring that is just perfect allegory for this campaign and the rEVOLution. It's also not preachy or pushy.

Someone should really put together a video with this song accompanied by the signs for the rEVOLution, some shots of supporters and Ron walking among them. It could be a big hit. There are a few pauses in between the verses that could be used to get in a few choice audio clips.

There's a very short clip that doesn't do it much justice here.

how about Gary Hoey's cover of Pink Floyd's money... I always think about those follow the money websites when I hear it

or The Night They drove Ol' Dixie Down by The Band, just one of my favorites

By the way, I'd like to add, I think this thread is a terrific idea, and I'd like to see it stick around for a while. It would be a great place for all of us to share our liberty-minded musical choices, and useful for the folks who want to create media for the campaign.

Alter Bridge - "Rise Today"

Rise Today - Alter Bridge - Hi Quality Vers

Rise Today lyrics

The wind is blowing cold
Have we lost our way tonight?
Have we lost our hope to sorrow?

Feels like we're all alone
Running further from what's right
And there are no more heroes to follow

So what are we becoming?
Where did we go wrong?

[Chorus:]
Yeah, oh yeah
I want to rise today
And change this world

Yeah, oh yeah
Oh, won't you rise today
And change this world?

The sun is beating down
Are we ever gonna change
Can we stop the blood from running?

Our time is running out
Hope we find a better way
Before we find we're left with nothing

For every life that's taken
So much love is wasted

[Chorus:]
Yeah, oh yeah
I want to rise today
And change this world

Yeah, oh yeah
So won't you rise today
And change

This world
Only love can set it right
This world
If only peace would never die

Seems to me that we've got each other wrong
Was the enemy just your brother all along?

[Chorus:]
Yeah, oh yeah
I want to rise today
And change this world

Yeah, oh yeah
Oh won't you rise today
And change this world?

Yeah, oh yeah
I want to rise today
And change this world

Yeah, oh yeah
I want to rise today
And change this world

Does anybody have time to listen to all the suggestions?

Probably not. A - Band Name - Song Title - would help a lot. We probably don't need to watch the vids since we already know the song.

Any Suggestions for Campaign Theme song?

My pick: http://youtube.com/watch?v=0aFByioqlPE
If you can include a link with your selection.:D

So far, too much Link and not enough Name.

Please don't just post a link. Please identify the song. Thank you! Come again!

Yes - Shock To The System

(Jon Anderson, Steve Howe, Jonathan Elias)
Shock to the system,
But you're going back inside of the light.
Shock to the freedom,
Only one more body of love in the rolling - They're rolling back to
you!
Dreaming all the time; they be dreaming all the time.

Shock to the politicians;
You know they just got burned by the fire.
Shock to the freedom whispers;
They're only coming after the rolling - They're rolling, coming
over!
Dreaming all the time; they be dreaming all the time.

So, in answer to the prayer,
The one you want is there,
The one you feel inside of you.
So, in answer to the dream,
This time you are so clear;
It's always got to be this way!
Forever...

Shock to the future;
Shock to the rights of Mankind.
And they won't even go blind,
When they see what's going on.

So, in answer to the prayer,
The one you feel is there,
The one you feel so close to (The order of the Sun).
And everyone is one,
And all the pieces fit together.
Did it all begin with Someone?
Did it all begin with Someone?
I could not admit to being alive!

Shock to the system...

here's a youtube of the live version from 1991 which is not as good as the studio track
