TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — The president of the anti-abortion group Operation Rescue has endorsed Texas Congressman Ron Paul for the Republican presidential nomination.

Troy Newman's endorsement was released Thursday by Paul's campaign, two days ahead of voting in the Kansas GOP presidential caucuses. Operation Rescue has its headquarters in Wichita.

... in a recorded message distributed by the Paul campaign, Newman said Paul will fight to ban abortion and is the only candidate truly committed to defending the U.S. Constitution.

Paul planned appearances Friday in Topeka, Wichita and Lawrence.

In the defense of some Republican voters... the media would black it out. If the media wasn't blacking it out they would be spinning it as 'Jesus Christ endorses Ron Paul, meant to endorse Mitt Romney... PR Error'.

Interesting. This group used to be part of the group founded by current Democrat Presidential candidate Randall Terry.

I saw Randall Terry speak in Wichita back in the early 90s, when Operation Rescue was getting a lot of publicity. The guy was one angry dude and it came out when he spoke.

But this is a nice endorsement.
