6 p.m.: What does it mean when the two frontrunners for the Republican nomination, Mitt Romney and John McCain, are calling each other "liberals"?

http://www.cnn.com/feedback/forms/form5t.html (6-7 pm question)

Time for a real conservative ie. Ron Paul......or even better time for the introduction of the debute of the CONSERVATIVE PARTY OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

The current administration has more in common with LBJ's presidency than Ronald Reagan's. It is my opinion that only Ron Paul represents the true Conservative voice. That's Conservative with a capital "c". The remainder of the GOP field is a concoction of neo-liberal ideals: bigger government, more spending, reduced national security and identity.

Ron Paul will get my vote in the NC primary for his record of never voting for a tax increase, never voting for a reduction of our civil liberties, and never voting for an increase in entitlement spending.

Thank you.

What I sent.

Both McCain and Romeny say the same things. So who cares who's liberal or not. We all know that they aren't true conservatives and do not follow what the GOP says they stand for on their own web site. I say to hell with both of them! I'm voting for a real change, I'm voting for Ron Paul no matter what you tell me his odds are!

Answer:

It means that they are correct and the voters need to look elsewhere for a true conservative candidate. That person is Ron Paul. He defends the constitution, is a fiscal conservative, and a true Republican. There is no one like him in the race for the nomination. The others are imposters backed by main stream media.

Here's what I had to say to Jack.

It means that for once in this campaign, these two guys are telling the truth! They’d call Giuliani a liberal too, but he’s a longshot and they don’t need to bother with him. Given Huckabee’s fiscal record as governor, there’s only one candidate running on the voting record of a real conservative, and that’s Dr. Ron Paul.

What could it possibly mean Jack? Maybe it means that the GOP are now more liberal than conservative. After all they favor spending all your money on an increasingly large and overbearing government. They have forgotten about staying out of other countries internal affairs. They write laws like the patriot act which errode away at even basic freedoms. But what it REALLY means is that its time for a third party. Perhaps called the Conservative party...now I wonder who is in a position to make that happen. I would tell you Jack, but "they" might not let you read this comment if I did.

Here's mine:

When McCain and Romney are both calling each other liberals it means the media has managed to winnow the field down to the lesser of two evils while Dr.Ron Paul slowly but surely gathers steam. The true concerned conservatives who are capable of thinking for themselves and will take the time to hear the good Dr.'s reasoning understand his platform is the conservative platform of strong national defense and smaller government with sound fiscal policies. Ron Paul is the only candidate who will be able to give the oath of office AND follow through with that promise.

It means that they're BOTH right.:(

Two Republic frontrunners are calling each other liberals! Perhaps, miraculously Romney and McCain are actually capable of telling the truth. People stopped considering what is conservatism and started focusing on who can shout Ronald Reagan louder. If people remembered what it is to be conservatives they would know the only conservative candidates in the GOP race were Fred Thompson and Ron Paul.

You might have called Fred and Ron the hope and a prayer of conservatism, now that hope is out of the race, we have only the prayer of Ron Paul left.

mine:

It means WATCH OUT, they could both be right! I may not be voting for a “front runner” but I know I am voting for a conservative with a long standing record. Ron Paul gets my vote, and there is no other “true conservative” that can take it away from him. I think these two “front runners” are confused on the definition of conservative.

Done.

Jack- I dont trust either of them. After seeing Bush spend more money than any President since Lyndon Johnson, I now know that you have to look at a candidate's record, not his campaign promises to see how he is going to act in office. The truth is both these men have questionable voting records. The one man in the race, however, who has renewed my hope for conservativism is Ron Paul. His voting record is absolutely flawless. Here is a man with principles and integrity that the American people can trust and be proud to call their President.

We'll see if I make the cut.

This is what I wrote!

By George Jack! I think they ARE capable of telling the truth after all. They arent true conservatives, just look at their records and you can see. There is only one true conservative left in the race and no one is talking about him, his name is Ron Paul, just look at HIS record and you will see!

It means its time for a real Goldwater-esque conservative to step up for the nomination, and that conservative is most likely Ron Paul, the man endorsed by Goldwater's son.

my response:

"This simply means that McCain and Romney, much like a broken clock, are occasionally capable of being accurate."

They’re both liberals.

It means the Republican party has no idea what it means to be Conservative anymore. In 2000 Bush paid great lip-service to smaller government, and condemned policing the world. However, we now live in a country that is $9 trillion dollars in debt, and has adopted the Wilsonian ideology that we must make the world safe for democracy. I say hog-wash. We shouldn’t be in the business of controlling the fate of the Iraqi people, and we shouldn’t be sending Pakistan $10 billion dollars for absolutely nothing in return. Mitt and Mac are absolutely right though. They’re both liberals.

Bump hoping someone will youtube it. We might get lucky and have one or two Paulite replies aired.
