Two years ago the ISIS mercenaries weren't being paid as much by a coalition of Western sources to step up the mayhem. These mercenaries now HAVE been paid more, and provided more logistical support, to increase the mayhem just in time to impact US and other elections into a pro-war, pro-spying trajectory. All the interventionist candidates talk of increased spying (the key issue is warrantless, no due process surveillance). Trump soared because he uniquely stood out by saying let's work with Putin, let's not jump in and fight battles the Arabs should be fighting, and let's prioritize enforcing immigration laws and screening---all of which are NOT neocon talking points.
