Anarcho-Capitalists are right wing extremists, according to the SPLC

The non-aggression principle, free markets, self-ownership, voluntary association, and free markets? Would you ever imagine that these wonderful philosophies and economic functions would be deemed the apex of “right wing” hate groups?

The Southern Poverty Law Center has successfully done so. Of course, this isn’t their first time libeling groups, such as Ron Paul supporters, as “extremists.”

Leah Nelson published an article on the SPLC’s “Hatewatch (sub-headline: “Keeping an eye on the Radical right”)” blog titled, “Anarcho-Capitalists’ Seen as Cousins of the ‘Patriot’ Movement.”

Haha, so I'm "right wing" now? I hate the right even more than the left.

These shills see "extremism" in anything they fail to fully agree with. Hypocrites they are-how can one bemoan extremism but at the same time work with Bill Ayers?

By their own definition of a hate group, SPLC is a hate group.

Not sure how Josh feels about promoting hate groups here....

At least they're giving us some free publicity. Haters gonna hate, and statists gonna state.

You are right. They all are big government leftists. Total government control is on the far left and no government whatsoever is on the far right.

Lol I thought anyone would understand this...

Technically we are the FAR FAR right... the problem is people think of the FAR Right as a bunch of intolerant bigots who can't read.

The left-right paradigm is pretty useless at communicating ideas it seems. It's largely used as a label for people to get mad at the "side" they don't identify with. Classical Liberals were the original "left", and they were looking to decentralize and limit government power rather than to increase it.

While disparaging the "extremists" the SPLC piece wrote: "Services like roads ... would be built and maintained by private entities that would charge market-based fees for those who desired to use them"

Ironically, this is what the State of Texas did:

SB 792 passed by the Texas Legislature in 2007 replaced ALL traditional turnpikes and unleashed the highest possible tolls under a new model called, “market valuation.” Market values cannot be applied ot a monopoly, so the term on its face is misleading. Nonetheless, the Governor and Legislature figured out a way to apply the same controversial financing to PUBLIC tolling entities as is used in a private equity model; it’s called “market-based” tolls. The law requires ALL toll projects to undergo an “independent” third party appraisal ... to determine the “market value” of a proposed tollway, then have the toll authority float bonds for that pre-determined up front fee (just like the concession fees in private equity deals), and lastly, the tolling entity will charge a toll rate that is no longer based on what it costs to actually build the road, but on “whatever the market will bear.” This means the highest possible taxation and, essentially, toll rates without limit. We’re already seeing toll rates as high as $1.50 a mile on 183 in Austin! So, in effect, we’ll be charged the same oppressively high tolls as if a company like Cintra were doing it! Surely this unbridled taxation will become a model nationwide.

Though Cintra invented an innocuous sounding name, like the SH 130 Concession Company, make no mistake, a Spanish company, Cintra, controls and operates SH 130 for the next HALF CENTURY -- and some say it represents a multi-generational theft of public assets.

These controversial contracts called public private partnerships (P3s) will usher in the new railroad robber barons of our time -- private toll companies operating state-sanctioned monopolies and charging Texans a premium to drive.

Sadly, our situation is worse yet since the roads are generally constructed on stolen land, with stolen money.

Never mention Texas toll roads when statists bring up the roads argument. We are getting screwed twice by taxes and tolls for these roads. It is the worst of the worst. It is a perfect example of how Republicans like Rick Perry are no better than Barrack Obama.
