How can he say that Guiliani "out libertarianed" someone who didn't even get the option of answering that question. No one asked for Ron Paul's answer on the question of health care.

Also, I think this guy has libertarian and authoritarian confused if he thinks Guiliani fits the bill.

I'm actually one of about 37 people who actually has a subscription to U.S. News & World Report. I didn't know when I subscribed that the magazine is owned by Mort Zuckerman!

Giuliani is a libertarian if you believe that "Freedom is about authority". It's an extraordinary statement, really.

Cancel your subscription. Make sure to tell them why.

The former mayor of New York City out "libertarianed" Don Knotts look-alike (more Hurley from Three's Company than Barney from The Andy Griffith Show) Ron Paul when he suggested that Big Business and Big Government get out of the healthcare business

So rather than substantiate their claim that Ron is less libertarian than Rudy, then make fun of his looks?!!! Why didn't they start the sentenced, "The chrome dome former mayor of New York..."

Wow, I am going to tell all my family members to CANCEL that piece of trash magazine. I like the author's ad hominem strategy; it is indicative of a really, really strong argument.

Remember, it was Giuliani himself who said he would have his third wife help advise him on national medical policy. His wife has credentials, he contends, because she is a registered nurse. (Note: I am not at ALL saying that it is bad to be a nurse. I am just pointing out that in order to be a policy maker, one needs to demonstrate a little bit more experience and aptitude than just having a nurse card from New York state). I guess by Giuliani's logic, since I am going to be an economics major by the next presidential term, I can help shape economic policy!

Yup, Rudy is the libertarian for sure... http://goldismoney.info/forums/showthread.php?t=144007

Seriously, Ron Paul was the only Medical Doctor in the room and they don't ask him about health care? What a crock!

Giuliani's response was factually correct. Ron Paul has stated similar opinions on healthcare, though he's also added the excessive regulation preventing anyone but MDs from doing a lot of work. That was actually an impressive response, given the nonsense Giuliani usually spouts.
