An Open Letter to the Ron Paul Communities Regarding Lawyers for Ron Paul

Am I missing something -- is that a joke or just a really mean comment?

Add - why some many paranoid comments? Does anyone feel as though we have anything to lose with LFRP?

It is always possible, even if just by not bringing a different one asking for more effective remedies. Patriotone thinks they are after the delegates, but it seems to me some of the delegates were kicked off, like in MAss and everyone knows who they are. But I don't know one way or the other and each delegate needs to make up their own mind. But the call will give us an opportunity to ask questions. I am very pleased they are giving people the opportunity to ask questions. Then we go on from there.

That seemed like a really heartfelt note to me ... why is he a scumbag?

PatriotOne is sure this is a bad thing, but everyone has to have a chance to vett their own concerns. If Christopher Shelley was on the up and up and I have no reason to think he wasn't, he was treated pretty badly. I hope if people get their concerns satisfied they will tell him so.

I feel that there is an issue that could become problematic- since this lawsuit was filed, there have been an increase of comments here and more notably, at the DP, that are of a litigious nature. I understand that this lawsuit has empowered a lot of frustrated people; this is not a bad thing. But what is going to happen when the case runs its course, and the results are not exactly as expected?

If something happens at a convention that is not on the up-and-up, there are always a certain percentage of responses that denounce the perpetrators, a bit of discussion on the matter, then a way to counter this activity is developed for the next convention. What is happening now is that a lot of the natural response has been replaced with a series of links to the same sites, directing people to 'join the lawsuit'.

Again, this is not a bad thing in itself, if it occurs alongside the natural problem-solving process that got the movement where it is today. But it is dangerous to place this process completely in the hands of a 3rd party. I don't think this is happening right now, but I do think it is leaning in that direction. I saw it play out in real life at the OR CD4 video where someone tried to leave with the ballots.

The very first response after the initial "what?"'s and no way" 's was "get a lawyer" (around the 1:00 mark). The natural response (developed over years of experience with the natural problem-solving process that occurs within the movement) was to go outside and get the ballots back before the person(s) leave, and this is where the real empowerment should be drawn from; and this is what we have to lose.
