An official campaign statement about the racism allegations would be good

...would simply lend credibility to already debunked B.S., especially a quick response. Don't panic; all this stuff has been said before, yet we still improved in the polls. Toughen up and hang in there; the TNR article actually isn't as bad as we were expecting.

MSM thought they had pocket aces, re-releasing this on the day of the primary. They're worried. Our numbers have nowhere to go but up. Stay calm.

The campaign should issue a statement if he is directly accused of the allegations by some of the MSM networks. But not until then.

I really don't think the MSM will pick it up. They ALREADY ignore Ron Paul.

I think he needs to step right up and take the initiative to take this out now, and finally lay it to rest. This is literally the only thing the MSM has on him, THE ONLY THING. If he can convincingly take this out now, he will be home free.

The longer the wait, the more it lends validity. And it could be valid,so you'd better be prepared.

I just hate to see all these people bitching, saying that we're finished, after all the effort and energy they've put into this. I know it's tough, but we know the allegations aren't true; why give up so easily? We need to brush it off and refocus. It's not like the smears are going anywhere. The mainstream "republican" candidates are campaigning against each other; we're campaigning against the Establishment. It's not going to get any easier.

NOT TODAY. It would bring more attention to them on Primary day.

Tomorrow or after, in the run up to South Carolina...

By the way, and I know that this is REALLY cynical -- but everything they are accusing him of in these smear pieces will probably HELP with the South Carolina Republican electorate, which is INCREDIBLY conservative.

Agreed.

I have emailed the campaign three times already!

I keep asking them to make some sort of official statement, debunking or renouncing all of this. They need to get on top of this... it's going viral right now. You can expect YouTube videos, more articles on every MSM website and more damning commentary on the MSM stations. They need to address this right now.

I just got off the phone with headquarters and the person who answered the phone knew nothing about whether or not a statement was in the works. This is really gruesome stuff.

Ok that is incompetent...

They knew yesterday this was coming, how could they not have already had one prepared? This is the naivest campaign ever...

I was more under the impression that the young guy who answered the phone was just completely out of the loop. He didn't know anything, which isn't the same thing as saying that there isn't anything TO know.

But, you are right. The kid answering the phone should at least have a script to follow when asked about this. I can't be the only person calling there. More people should call headquarters.

No statement needed. Folks, this is how political correctness is enforced.

  • The media dredges up ancient and out of context quotes and asks for an explanation.
  • If you explain, the media lays more pressure on you for an apology.
  • The pressure builds and builds until your message is lost.
  • You apologize and that is all that gets played in the media.

One of the reasons Paul speaks to me is that his message is unfiltered; he says what he believes, undistilled by PC.

Lets not become the media's PC enforcers.

They need a statement, but after the polls close tonight. A statement now WILL be picked up by the MSM and it could be the gossip at the polls.
