An Appeal To The Left: "The Change You Wanted - Ron Paul 2012" Video

This, for sure. Had to keep adjusting the volume, turn it up.. get blasted when it switched clips, turn it down, can't hear the next one. :c
Otherwise, I think it was a good video. Just a little long.

I didn't notice either of those things myself. I wonder about the reaction of the 'FAIL' clip. But I love the video :)

I think overall its a waste of time going after so called progressives, a few might trickle on over but i am positive they're not the path to victory. Besides, he has to get the Republican nomination first.

Or an end run around them. It may be time for an independent run.

Although the video is good anti-war videos will not win the Republican nomination.

I think that good anti-war messages are how we will win with the young people, and will certainly help our cause, as ending the wars is essential to liberty.

Brilliant job. You came at it from a different angle that I think is quite helpful. You basically used the left's own media mouthpieces to demonstrate how their own core values have been completely abandoned. Bravo!@

Thanks for all the comments. They're appreciated. I know it's not perfect, but it's another tool we can use for fence-sitters.

I can't help but disagree with this statement. The fact is RP has much in common with people who would consider themselves left of center.

There are millions of people who hold the war as their #1 issue and for a fraction of them war is the only issue. These voters could also be motivated(maybe even motivated enough to vote in a Republican primary) if the circumstances are right.

For instance these voters could be motivated if there were some sort of an acceleration of violence and deaths of American troops. Which is somewhat likely due to the current uprisings across north Africa and in the middle east. Obama is clearly going to have some difficulties appealing to the anti-war crowd..

under certain conditions Ron Paul may end up being this voting block's only choice.

I've been playing around with the script for this video and finally came to something I felt satisfied with. I bought some video editing software, and was able to create a new YouTube video called "The Change You Wanted - Ron Paul 2012".

This video, like "Ron Paul's Transition Plan", is designed to appeal to the senses of the Anti-War Left, the Independents, the true Progressives, and the disillusioned Obama supporters from 2008. What I tried to do was paint a contrast between 2007's promises and the reality three years later, while hammering home Ron Paul's key points.

There's no music on the video, despite the suggestions many on the forum gave me about doing that. I know the foggiest thing about music, so I didn't want to mess up the video with a crappy song or sound. If anyone wants to rip it and add the music to make it more viral-appealing, be my guest. Only on one condition, though. I would ask that you PM me to get the subtitle file, as I want every version of the video to be subtitled everywhere.

I hope you all enjoy it. If you do, please spread the word to those you feel would benefit from it. Die-hard Republicans would probably be the least likely audience. The length of the video is 15 minutes, but I think it goes by pretty fast. I also linked RPF at the top of the summary section.

Damn. Excellent video.

This video must go viral.

I liked it quite a bit, though some of the switching from scene to scene was too abrupt, and that was distracting. Thanks for making the video.

I think focusing on the anti-war position is how we will gain legitimacy with the majority of America, because it is the principled and peaceful position. Now if only more people in this nation realized that we should be focusing on ending the wars.

I'm working on another one entirely focused on Paul's take on Civil Liberties, Social Security and Medicaid. Everything from the war on drugs to the TSA to the federal death penalty. What would be an ideal title? And would 10 minutes be better than 15?

Young people dont vote. But I agree with you.

Thank you for the link Kramer. Promoted to front page.

Nicely done vid.

Very nicely done - I hadn't seen that Morning Joe clip and I really liked it. Also, those last pictures at the end were the icing on the cake

Keep up the great work! Maybe you can split up the topics you mentioned into separate videos. For example you can do one about social security and medicaid and another about civil liberties, war on drugs, and TSA. Anywhere between the 5 to 10 minutes would be perfect. You did a great job on this one.

Let me clarify: I meant young voters (18-30+), not people too young to vote.
I think he understood what you meant, but the original statement still holds, young people, as a demographic, do not really vote, or do not vote enough in comparison to other age groups.

i enjoyed that. but i've got to disagree with the above sentiment. many of us here are (or at least i am) selling Dr. Paul as the anti-war pro-pot (freedom) guy. i can recruit people to our cause with this simple message that has massive appeal to the "left": end these fucking wars and save a shitload of (or use "cut spending" if the person is at all cognizant of the debt).

the anti-war message, i've found, does not appeal to most of the current republican establishment and they set the tone for local and regional unwritten directives for who the "regular" republicans must support. their is a vast pool of Obamabots and folks that supported him for various other reasons that must be disappointed yet may need to be told why. these folks are a alrgely untapped pool of new blood. and these are the folks that i will encourage and take with me when our precinct caucuses are held.

in primary states this group of voters will probably be free-agents as they will have no reason to beat off Hillary and could be convinced to once again cast a vote with pride for a real anti-war candidate.
