An amnesty international volunteer wanted donations for abuse to foreigners by oppressive governments. Violence against women was his main issue. This is of course a serious issue.

Want is the libertarian solution to this? Trade sanctions are terrible. War is terrible. Assassinations are terrible. Do millions have to die before people rise up and overthrow their malicious governments?

What's the Ron Paul theory here?

Thank you.

The American colonists got an ass load of help from the French intervention. Are you saying that every people must always be on their own?

The French helped up because they were also at War with Great Britain.

Explain a little please?

Supposedly, the taliban had offered to turn over bin laden and keep al-queda out of afghanistan forever IF we let them keep control of their govt. They were turned them down because, "the first lady doesn't like how you treat your women".

Private charity is a personal decision. Do they use it to help or to lobby for taxpayer money? I'd be against the latter, the former would depend on what they do and how efficient their administration was in getting money to the end recipients rather than administration of their venture.

What a blatant distortion of history.

They didn't "intervene"! They made a business deal for their own benefit.

amnesty international advocates government intervention. I'd talk to them and ask them if they understand that government involvement overseas just leads to the country's people backing the dictator (Read: Libya). They do not want to be occupied by the US. I would tell them that I am not going to give them money because they lobby to intervene. I'll tell them, I'm going to donate to a different organization which plans on going over there themselves and help and are not gov affiliated.

It's not the govs job to be globeo cop
