Alternative locations are needed to offer the planning committee.

Comments are requested from intellectual members who have the right to offer constructive suggestions towards the planning of the up-coming event.

Poster have the right to expose their retarded mentality and interject stupid comments if they choose because it helps us identify who the stupid posters are.

Philadelphia – The Declaration was signed.
Boston – The Tea Party

Under what circumstances would the need arise to go elsewhere? If they can't secure a permit for DC practically no one will show up outside of a 50 mile radius. I don't want to sound condescending but it simply won't work on the scale of something like the civil rights marches if it isn't in Washington.

I say bring it to New Orleans, LA we have several huge festivals a year. The Voodoo Festival, and Jazz Fest. If there are going to be multiple stages with over 100 acts then this is a good place to have it as any! Plus everyone in New Orleans would be happy to have us, unlike other cities who might be pissed off. We don't care who comes to town as long as people come to town.

Plus we know how to have a good time, there are other fun things to do once the march is over. Put it down New Orleans, LA!

If there is any alternative location it needs to be in as central a US location as possible to afford maximum participation from all RP supporters

I think the next SPP summit meeting of the mindless is in NOLA this summer! That would be cool to bust their lil meeting

Whitehouse Press Release: North American Leaders’ Summit, April 21-22, 2008.
As he noted in his State of the Union address, the President will be hosting the North American Leaders’ Summit on April 21-22 in New Orleans. This fourth meeting of North American leaders since 2005 will continue our work on Security and Prosperity Partnership (SPP) initiatives. It will also serve as an opportunity for the three leaders to discuss hemispheric and global issues of importance to North America.

Thank you ladilibery for the links and btwilli1 for the recommendation.

Thanks, to TruthAtLast for his comment in this thread, How to Win the Convention – REAL REVOLUTION started by DeepThroat. It is an excellent idea to have the Freedom March at the St. Paul Convention, Sept 1-4! .

The Convention in St. Paul is logical for the Freedom March due to the following reasons.

• We need volunteers, as well as delegates at the Sept. Convention. Two major trips in one summer will be too much to expect from an already drained group. Financially, mentally and physically.

• Time spent until the convention could be spent in communities to inform voters, raise monetary contributions and get attention. There are community activities which can show an undecided or unaware people of how Ron Paul supporters are making a difference rather than promising change. There are suggestions with-in the forums and some have already started to happen. Such as house painting for the needy done by representatives of the Ron Paul Campaign.

• The D.C. March isn’t appealing to everyone. There are supporters who are tired of walking and waving signs, they get that while canvassing. They want to DO something positive.

Pittsburgh... where RP was born
Norfolk... close to Yorktown, loads of military, nice beaches, used to lots of visitors at one time
Galveston... in RPs district... has lots of beaches & used to lots of visitors at one time
Philadelphia... in a large population center and close to valley forge
Atlanta... home of CNN
New Orleans... before it gets too hot

No, No, No to N.O.

My son and his girlfriend were in N.O. for the last few days (NBA All Star Game).
On several occasions, they were treated very rudely by local law enforcement (they were brushed aside, ignored, called names, etc.).

In addition, hotel rooms were very hard to come by and very expensive. Traffic was a nightmare!

New Orleans is in no way ready for this type of event.

Now, I am a huge fan of N.O. -- I have family there, grew up there and was married there in 1977. It saddens me to report this, but that is the way it is!

Sounds like N.O could use some change in its diplomacy!

Alternative Locations for Consideration:

Philadelphia, Independence National Historic Park – With only 45 acres spanning this park it hardly seems feasible for a large event however it may show to be promising for mini event.

University of Virginia - Jefferson's Contribution to Education. Note: Wiki quote - In 2001, john kluge donated 7,378 acres (30 km²) of additional lands to the University. Kluge desired the core of the land to be developed by the University, and the surrounding land to be sold to fund an endowment supporting the core. A large part of the gift was soon sold to musician Dave Matthews, of the Daves Matthews Band, to be utilized in an organic farming project. It is unknown what the University will do with its "core" portion of the land.- end quote. How about a mini event

Mount Rushmore – This site being far from D.C may not seem fitting to the group however these presidents were selected because of their role in preserving the Republic. RP supporters there could host a mini event

New Orleans – As ladiliberty points out,… "The President will be hosting the North American Leaders’ Summit on April 21-22 in New Orleans.” Perhaps a mini event would be considered appropriate.

Wish I had these this morning because the cities listed above were sent to the committee! LOL ... The precinct leaders in those areas could coordinate mini events!

Convention in St. Paul, Minneapolis Sept. 1-4. The Big One! This is where the battle is! see the link posted above to deepthroats thread.

Here is a suggestion for those who want to do something besides carry a sign and yell into the wind. Start fund raising to help delegates get to the convention!

Not to mention that they are using alot of Military Police in N.O. Still. I was there on business about 3 weeks ago staying at a downtown hotel and there were alot of Military Policemen staying at my hotel with Hummers and special LA State Military police cruisers.. From what I understand they are there "helping out". I guess I can understand somewhat, from what I heard they are short on LE there in N.O. But it is still a little scary to me to have a Military police force policing the general public like that.

New Orleans, a police state?

YIKES, first they take their guns away, then they stick around under the guise of "helping out" ... After Andrew, after Charlie.and all those other catastrophes of nature they did not stick around to "help out", nor did they take our weapons away...Is this the new FEMA directive???:eek: I think we need to monitor these things much more closely...

You make a good point about the possibility of not being able to obtain a permit, especially at this late date. I've helped organize rallies in DC before and we got ours 6- 8 months in advance. The park service allows you to secure a date up to a year in advance. It may not be that easy to get one right now and that could very well be why a date hasn't been announced yet.

Picking other possible venues might not be such a bad idea.

The un-Federal Reserve has a bank in Washington D.C., so I think that would be a good location.

Bilderburg is meeting in New Orleans this summer, according to someone who called into the Alex Jones show. If that is accurate, then it might make sense to have a rally outside the meeting, and join Alex Jones by bringing our own bullhorns.
