Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul has been called the internet's candidate, and what's on the internet can't help but spill over into World of Warcraft. On New Year's Day a group of Paul followers are planning a march from Ironforge to Stormwind on the Whisperwind server to show support for their favorite candidate. The march will begin at 8:30 PM. Depending on the route they take, this could be an extremely short march (Ironforge to train tunnel to Stormwind) or an extremely long and humorous one as dozens of Ron Paul supporters sporting newbie Gnome and Dwarf characters die in droves trying to cross the Burning Steppes. Unfortunately Whisperwind is a non-PVP server, so the worst any political opposition can do is /rude, /spit, and kek.

wow this is news? I am one of those players! we got like 10 now, but I wont be able to participate on new years:(

just hope we don't get banned first for being 'too political'

You can always count on Kotaku to have droves and droves of stupid commenters no matter what the article is about.

I remember playing the game Starcraft a few times in college, this Warcraft thing must be a new one.

City of Heroes is where it's at too bad I don't have the time to play MMos like I did a few years ago

They'll do something like this in World of Warcraft, and then the majority of those people who participate in it probably won't even vote due to raiding conflicts. Oh Sweet Irony.

ahhahahahahahaha

i think you can play WOW and writer letters.

since i work for a video game company and have written a lot of letters for iowa i feel comfortable in saying that.

Sounds like time that could be spent writing letters to NH addresses.

12 days on this forum and you think it's OK to criticize what others are doing in their spare time on New Years Day? WOW (no pun intended).

FYI there are alot of people that have done an enormous amount of things on this forum for a long time. :)

I don't think spending an hour or two on WOW by a few people is going to make or break this campaign; it may actually help get a few voters.

Welcome to the forum. :)

What are the odds of getting our accounts banned? I'm all for creating a char on that server and joining the fun, but not at the cost of losing my account :)

The very first Warcraft game came out in 1995, if I'm not mistaken.

Yup, Warcraft was actually the precursor to Starcraft. The main Warcraft series is actually strategy games similar to Starcraft. But "World of Warcraft" is a massively multiplayer roleplaying offshoot that takes place in the Warcraft universe.
