Newt Gingrich All Staff have resigned - Campaign all but over

+rep for calling it before it hit the news. I was reserving judgement, but you just earned some cred, in my book... you obviously have some form of connection that I don't.

The question is, why doesn't she work with the campaign? They have offered. She has also been known to spread disinfo that was thoroughly refuted by Steve.

That is interesting to say the least. She did have some kind of inside info, because she called it hours before the news did.

Meh. Anyone who has access to the wire services--say, because they work for The Podunk County Weekly Tattler--could do this parlor trick.

John DiStaso's Granite Status: NH's David Carney leaves Newt Gingrich campaign

THURSDAY UPDATE: CARNEY’S LEAVES NEWT. Veteran New Hampshire political consultant David Carney told the Granite Status that “as of today,” his firm, Norway Hill Associates and “the whole political operation,” nationally as well as in Iowa has left the campaign of former U.S. House speaker Newt Gingrich.

Carney attributed the exodus to “a fundamental disagreement on how to run a campaign,” adding, “You can’t have a big political staff with a low-budget campaign.”

Watch Union Leader.com for further details of our interview with Carney.)

THE BIG EVENT. The most important event so far in the campaign for the 2011 GOP presidential nomination takes place Monday, June 13, when seven announced and prospective candidates are scheduled to debate at Saint Anselm College.

The debate, cosponsored by the New Hampshire Union Leader, WMUR and CNN, will be broadcast on WMUR and CNN.

The participants will be Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann, businessman Herman Cain, former U.S. Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, Texas U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former Pennsylvania U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum.

Methinks they are hoping for a better offer....Rudy, maybe....

but after the way they announced it instead of letting him spin it, I wonder if another candidate would want to hook up with them...

Kah's link below says Gingrich is still in the race. Expect him to be a bit strident Monday at the debate. So, nice. Romney's in the middle, Gingrich w/o current staff on one side, and Ron on the other.

Foxnews has started pushing Guiliani again recently. Roger Ailes I guess changed his mind about Gingrich and now I suspect these guys will be going to Guiliani.

WASHINGTON – Republican presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich's campaign manager, senior strategists and key aides in early delegate-selection states all resigned on Thursday, a mass exodus that leaves his hopes of winning the Republican nomination in tatters.

Rick Tyler, Gingrich's spokesman, said he, campaign manager Rob Johnson and senior strategists had resigned, along with aides in the early primary and caucus states of Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina.

Other officials said Gingrich was informed that his entire high command was quitting in a meeting earlier in the day. They cited differences over the direction of the campaign but were not more specific.

The officials declined to be identified by name, saying they were not authorized to discuss private conversations.
Gingrich told the group he intends to stay in the race, they added.

Even before the sudden departures, Gingrich's campaign was off to a notably rocky start. Within days of formally announcing he would run, he was assailed by conservatives for criticizing a plan to remake Medicare that Republicans pushed through the House.

He called the author of the plan, Rep. Paul Ryan, to apologize but did not back off his objections.
Within days, he had dropped from sight, embarking on a cruise to the Greek Isles with his wife, Callista, while rivals for the Republican nomination kept up their campaign appearances.

He returned to the United States earlier in the week to confront a rebellion that had been brewing for some time among the senior echelon of his campaign.

I am 100% certain that at some point in the foreseeable future (I'm not saying when) Barack Obama will also end his presidential campaign. Feel free to book that. And don't ask me how I know.
Of course he will. It'll be right after he loses or wins reelection.

I'm going to throw some more fuel on this fire.

i don't know if this will help RP or hurt him. Gingrich has that establishment tone..so I don't know if his votes will go to Romney.

After he gets back from the Bildeberger meeting, I'm sure his former aides will return to his camp in time to help him launch his campaign. Rick Perry that is.

Some actually may go to Cain too. For some reason, some still perceived that Gingrich was a small government conservative.

When they added Gingrich to the polls Ron's share went down significantly. A lot of people believe Gingrich is a fiscal conservative. And he uses the word 'Constitution'.

But yeah, to a bunch of posts above, a number of candidates now in on the tea party side weren't in before when the race was being polled w/o Gingrich and who knows, Pawlenty might have more draw to some than meets the eye. Gingrich kept Ron from being polled head to head against Obama by PPP which pisses me off, but PPP lives to piss me off, so that is nothing new.

In a recent poll of Texas, Perry got 4% of the share of people wanting him for President; Ron got 10%. (Palin led with 12%)
