Does anyone else get the feeling that all of this posturing with Iran is just total bullshit?
I mean pardon my French, but to me it just seems like there's no way Iran wants to pick a fight with us and there's no way we want to pick a fight with Russia and China by attacking their oil supplier.
So then why all the posturing? Why is there a story on the news every 5 minutes about Iran and the strait and the sanctions (which don't go into effect for 6 months) and this and that. Meanwhile, the economic news is all good and happy (even though we're still in a depression with the possibility of worse things to come).
Forgive me for an Alex Jones moment, but could it be that the powers that be are trying to make Iran seem like an imminent threat, like we are about to go to war at any second, in order to scare people away from Dr. Paul?
It seemed to me like they did this back in 2007 as well. Every story while Paul was in the race was about military and terrorism and the success of the Patriot Act and the success of the surge in Iraq, etc, etc, etc. The economy was doing great and the terrorists were at our doorsteps. Then McCain won the nomination and suddenly there was no more terrorism or war in Iraq and the economy was the biggest news story from then on.
Am I looney for having a gut feeling that this is just a repeat of that same BS?
