Alexa--RP off the scale!

Over the last 2 days I've had a glitch with Alexa that I never had before. When I try to hit the tabs to change the range of dates (e.g. 1 wk, 1 mo., 3 mos., etc.) the chart will not click and it will not change the view. Is anybody else unable to change the range of dates on Alexa?

Yes, I had that problem this a.m. I thought it was on my end. I've had intermittent problems on the forum, as well. Maybe the intertubes are imploding from all the RP-related traffic. OMG! That just gave me an idea of something evil that TPTB could do before the election. NEVERMIND...

My favorite Alexa stat:
As of yesterday we were ranked #3,091 for all websites

So, we are one of the highest traffic sites on the internet!

Well, we finally outmatched Thompson's one-time spike when he announced. Getting pretty close to Hillary's big spike in June (was that for her advertising gimmick or whatever it was?), and aside from that, Ron Paul's spike is higher than any other spike except for Hillary and Obama way back around when they announced their candidacies.

Graph with Hillary, Obama, and Fred included

And with graph smoothing on, it looks even better, since Ron's site has better sustained traffic. We'll see if this latest spike also maintains at least some level of activity higher than previously.

Same graph, but with max smoothing

I should also include Compete.com's graph, which shows a similar trend: Compete.com: Daily Attention %

Maybe Ron should start selling ad space time on his web site and bring in a few extra million while we're at it.

EXACTLY what I was thinking. As long as he got to preview the ads to make sure it wasn't anything bad or annoying, I think they should consider it.

Although it might be distorted in the media as Ron Paul being desperate for money or something. People would forget quickly about our last money bomb.

No.

Well, it turns out the spike isn't over yet! It went up a bunch more today. Here is the Rank graph (up to 1,711th highest ranked site!). The Reach and Page View graphs show an increase even more strongly. Now I'm eager to see what it did yesterday, two days after the money bomb.

Hmm. Well, if we *really* wanted to give it a zing, we could get them to turn it into a portal, by simply putting some links (or a links page) on there, to ronpaulforums, dailypaul, ronpaulnation, etc, (or at least the majors), and we could all go through there on our way to RPF, or wherever. A little detour for each of us, but from a rank of 1711 now, I reckon we could really get it up there. Heck, they could effectively co-locate host the site, redirecting the RonPaulForums.com domain to ronpaul2008.com. Of course, we don't want to burden the HQ with any management or liability issues, so everything would carry on exactly as it is: managerially independent.

Of course, this would increase their hosting costs, but I reckon it wouldn't be that significant relative to the PR the extra traffic may generate.

Just a wild idea.

<BlackHat> Hmm. I wonder how much some of the deep-pocket candidates would spend to put a prime-space banner on ronpaul2008.com? I reckon it would be a fantastic price, because they seem to buy their voters for a pretty high voter-acquisition cost (unlike the frugal Dr Paul, for whom we give ourselves freely), and Dr Paul would be feared as a potential "Spoiler", making his voters (us!!) even more valuable.

Having seen the light, there's no way any RP supporter would turn back to the Dark side, and I'd happily open another tab or two, to get RP some extra bucks each time I swing by. Hmm. We'd have to stop the casual-interest people from getting waylaid. Maybe the ads should be deeper in, where the True Believers are. Argh...RPF! </BlackHat>
