Ahh man, more bashing of Ron Paul... Article: The Conservative Case Against Ron Paul

This guy quotes the 'National Journal' as a source for voting records. This publication is a lobbyist magazine as as such it should be trusted as much as you would trust someone in such a profession.

He goes on to contradict himself by saying that Ron Paul is a libertarian, not a conservative but supports isolationism. Actually Ron Paul is against isolationism and against foreign entanglements that have nothing to do with defending the United States. The author distorts truth and say Ron Paul 'excused' the 911 attacks. No, he explained them. Using the author's logic, if a piano fell from a 15 story building and I told the crowd 'well, according the video we shot, someone shoved it out the window and gravity did the rest,' I would be 'excusing' the piano's fall from the building.

Let's all let Mr. John Hawkins know what we think of his presentation of Ron Paul by emailing him via this form: http://www.townhall.com/Columnists/...nservative_case_against_ron_paul?contact=true

Be nice to him, I think he is just fooled, not one who does the fooling.

John Hawkins runs Right Wing News and is a Duncan Hunter Consultant

I love the "spamming part." Right Wing News leaves Paul off the selections to choose from for who wins the debates, but includes him in who LOST the debates so his supporters can spam that poll.

This Stuff is nothing new

Folks, I saw this same thing when Ron ran for the US Senate against Phil Gramm in the Republican primary in 1984.

Ron Paul was hated then, and he is hated now by the Party Machine. The "stalwarts" at Townhall.com - Hugh Hewitt, Dean Barnett, Mary Ham - truly hate him and ridicule him every chance they get. When you read some of the bloggers and the people who post comments on articles, it gets pretty scary. There are some serious Brown Shirts over there. Obviously, they will never be won over.

The key is to reach the sensible, moderate and conservative people who still have some semblance of understanding logical arguments and will THINK about issues.

But there is no doubt that Ron will be a very hard sell to a good majority of Republican voters. Hence his poll numbers not showing up over 10% on nearly all the large polls.

Be careful about being emotionally drawn into this campaign. I speak as one from experience with the 1984 senate race.

He also writes a weekly column for Townhall.com and consults for the Duncan Hunter campaign.

This is the second time I've spotted a Duncan Hunter consultant bashing Paul. I find it interesting that they aren't going after the front-runners. Perhaps Duncan is a dummy candidate whose running simply to take votes from other "secon tier" candidates.

The John Birch Society publishes the Conservative Index. The criteria they use to judge the votes of the legislative Branch is the Constitution of the United States of America.

According to the latest Conservative Index Ron Paul has a rating of 100%. Duncan Hunter has a rating of 44%.

I think that the Constitution is a much more reasonable, impartial criteria to judge voting habits on, rather than comparing the votes to how other people voted.

What else could he be? He doesn't differ materially from Giuliani. He's probably Giuliani's VP stooge-in-waiting.

Nothing new ever comes out of their mouths, it's the same stuff over and over again.
Did you catch the pic of the writer?

He looks like a 23-year-old kid who consumes too much Dr. Pepper and Cheetos....probably hooked on Everquest II and Internet porn.

These kinds of attacks against Dr. Paul will occur, because there is nothing of substance to say against him...this maddens his opponents, so they resort to sewer politics.

I'm sure becoming a "professional blogger" pretty much involves selling your soul to someone. We all know who owns this guy's soul... right Karl?

The last time the United States retreated to isolationism was after WW1 and the result was WW2.

Did any one see this? That is the most idiotic thing I have ever seen. It was exactly intervention, Wilson's 14 points, destroying Germany, and rebuilding Europe that caused WWII.

The author looks like the kind of guy that would throw a kid in the locker because he doesn't give him his lunch money.

Will someone please help me rebut this idiot on TownHall? I have been trying to do my best to hold the fort on that site and they need to see someone else on this article, besides me. We should be able to take his argument apart, piece-by-piece.

This can't just be allowed to stand. WAY too many people read these articles on TownHall.

Here is a great point by point rebuttal:

Ron Paul excused Al-Qaeda's attack

This says it all right here...this guy has no listening or critical thinking skills.

Remember Ghandi:

First they ignore you
Then they ridicule you
Then they fight you
Then you win.

I think the hit pieces are inevitable. Ron Paul has gone from being ignored (Ron Paul who?), to being ridiculed (he's crazy), to fighting us (see article that started this thread). We just need to keep spreading the truth.

Just read the article. This is what happens when corruptive ideologies (read...Neo-Conservatism) make corruption become orthodoxy.

Revolutions like Ron Paul's are needed to break up orthodoxy's that don't serve the people.

I say let them spew their stuff ad nauseum while we stick to our principles. As people wake up, they will see Neo-Conservatism for what it is.

Many already do.

On trying to bring democracy to the Middle East:

This is surely the self-contradiction at the heart of neoconservatism. Even at the maximum surge strength, America is helpless in the face of an Iraqi civil war that has only just begun, can be fuelled indefinitely by corrupt oil money, and is driven by centuries-old sectarian hatred between Shi’ite and Sunni Muslims and decades of totalitarian trauma. And yet the neocons insist we should plough on, adding more troops, planning on permanent bases for indefinite occupation.

Well, you can’t have it both ways. Either Arab culture without autocracy really is what we see in Gaza and Iraq or it isn't. If it is, then trying to build western-style democracy during a brutal civil war in Iraq is a mug's game.

here's the money shot

Don't worry boys, I laid the smackdown

people like you give me hope. cuz Ron Paul has brought so many people back into the vote. if he makes it to election day he'll crush clinton or obama or anyone else those dems will throw out there.

we just have to get him there... hey ppl... if you haven't already... register in your state as a repub so you can vote in the primaries!! and get ron paul on the ballot!!!!!
