against war yet still join military???

Just a question for you guys and gals. Would it be hypocritical for one to join the military today yet still be against the war and america's foreign policy?

Not at all, the first thing you learn is how to follow orders you don't agree with. Just understand unless we get Ron Paul in the White House, Iraq is the next destination for those newly enlisted. Maybe Iran.

Almost all people join the military with the idea of defending America, and they should always be commended. The tragedy is when our soldier's loyalty is abused.

No, I don't think it's hypocritical. I'm in the same dilema. I do however have some reservations about serving under Bush. If Ron Paul were elected I think I would enlist during his inauguration.

You will still get drugged up with crazy stuff they call vaccinations, all full of mercury and other harmful chemicals. I'd avoid the military if for that reason alone.

I think contributing to the war machine in any way is accessory to the crime of murder, crimes against humanity, etc. One must consider the fact that helping to perpetuate this system is helping facilitate the deaths of many many women, children, etc. Your choice...

P.S. are we seeing any increase in fragging incidences yet, a la viet nam?

So....bear that in mind.


I was in a non-combat field. Electronics Tech for the Air Force. A co-worker of mine was deployed throughout the middle-east setting up satalite links. The convoy he was traveling with came under attack, they had to fight back. Actually, the people he were with came under attack several times. My friend found it easier just to sleep with the body armor on.

A dish he setup on a hotel was struck down my a mortar round about 15mins after he went back into the building. A "Show of Force" if you will.

He made it back physically safe, sans a bit of hearing damage from a mortar round.

Mentally, he's been diagnosed with PTSD and host of other issues that basically forced him out of the military.

I've many other friends who are still serving, and against the current policies.

They continue to serve because of that oath.

I have two teenage sons. One wanted to join the military and I fought tooth and nail to make him understand that joining the New World Order army was something he shouldn't do. I feel that the REAL fight is here in America that fight is to save our republic and constitution.

In the Air Force, they're once again combining career fields. Chances are, no matter what you're in, you will be deployed.

I've been out of the service for nearly 3 years now.

I feel like I'm doing more to protect our country now, in my civilian personal life, than I ever did while serving.

If you're not joining because you want the chance to shoot arabs, then you're joining for the wrong reason.
