Adopt a Hawaiian [Pau - done, and mahalo - thanks] )

Oh dmmmm, I meant to thank you for the second link, very nice stuff....

Nonsense!

I am sorry. I am feeling just a BIT emotional about this subject right now.

I have a lot of things I feel like saying about this idea but in the end, those things may be considered "unbecoming" of a fellow patriot and co-revolutionary.

I wish everyone the best of luck with their individual projects. And I appreciate ALL the effort that everyone is putting into different causes and different directions.

I wish the same for "ronpaulhawaii".

But PEOPLE PLEASE!

SERIOUSLY THINK ABOUT where your money is best spent. Is it sending ONE PERSON to the RNC from Hawaii? There are hundreds (or at least many tens) of other Ron Paul delegates making the trip and they are not asking for A PENNY!

$7000 for ONE PERSON???

PLEASE consider that if you have some extra money that you want to contribute to "The Revolution", you think LONG and HARD about where that money may best be sent.

I have at least 2 projects that I am helping to organize which are raising money , but I won't be so impolite as to post them here in ronpaulhawaii's thread.

PLEASE THINK PEOPLE! Does the costs to take ONE PERSON to the RNC REALLY belong listed at the top of the RPF home page with other projects that will be infinately more effective with your generous donations?

Please just think about it. For what it's worth.

Hey Rayzer,

Can understand your comments about many good causes, yet I think maybe you misread the original post?

First of all the chipin is not for the Nat'l Convention in St. Paul--it's to get these guys to their state convention from several islands next weekend. Hawai'is fees are the highest in the country @ $100 for registration alone, $135 for convention meals, over $100 for airfare. Plus they can't drive there ;) Those that cannot afford the hotel are being housed by the local M/U, or staying with family or friends on the island.

It's not to support "one" person, it's to help several who are also raising money on their own to get to state. Hawai'i is not supporting a Nany State, they are doing all they can to help themself as well.

Read the links in the original post--that may help you understand & feel a bit better about what they are doing.:)

GO HAWAI'I !!!!

OUCH! Sorry if i was wrong on all the details. I apologize. I am not trying to spread mis-information. I still think people should think long and hard about where they choose to spend their money. Maybe we should have 50 chip-in widgets on the home page of RPF for all 50 states?

Enough said. For what it's worth...

All 50 states (and the additional territories which vote) are not still pending for state Conventions. Some states are going to cost significantly less than others. Some are within driving/car-pooling distance. Some don't have a traditional "state Convention" and have multiple dates where someone would need to be there.

People are doing what they can to support people who will undoubtedly have one of the most difficult combination commutes: expensive just to get in, expensive to get to their capitol, expensive to then get to St. Paul. This thread has been mellow and beautiful, one I always bump when people decide to fling poo on the front page. The pictures are awesome, the attitude is wonderful...

Are there NOT enough pages dedicated to every other project under the sun? This *is* the delegate push. If other people want to post chip-ins to get to their conventions, they can (and have). Even RonPaulHawaii said on the front page that there are lots of worthy projects out there :D so I'm not sure what the ranting about $7000 was really about.

Anyhow, hope this gets back on track.

Hey rayzer, no worries! Honest mistake if you didn't read the original post + letter from Hawai'i. And sending as many RP delegates to state as possible is a very worth cause ...in any state!

Hey Melissa,
Been busy, will place more links much later tonight. :)

I am very excited about this post. It is true that getting to our state convention is really hard. If anything I have wanted to go just to show my support but it really is quite a bit of money to spend. I will instead just keep spreading the word on the Big Island.

On a side note, has there been any talk on these forums about Daniel Brackins?
I looked him up and he seems to have some very impressive views.

Welcome to da forum cuz

oohh excellent video. I noticed my younger friends from Kealakehe in there in quite a few different spots. I did not attend the 2007 one because I'm going to college in UH Hilo and after volunteering many times during my high school times in Kona I decided to take a year off and dodge all the traffic.

I don't think I've seen any support for Ron Paul out here in Hilo, but then again I havent seen a single presidential candidate flyer either, just ones for mayor and such. I havent been able to do anything out here yet because I'm bogged down with my last week of IT classes. After finals next week I look forward to getting a job back in Kona and spreading the message.
