The Constitutional Alliance Fund is now looking for volunteers for the position of State Treasurer in the following states:

-Louisiana
-Mississippi
-New Jersey
-Virginia

All of these states have state legislature elections in 2011, and are a great testing ground for our organization going forward.

The role of the State Treasurer is as follows:
-Report itemized contributions and expenditures of the PAC periodically. This includes pre-election reporting (primary and general election) as well as some type of periodic reporting (usually annual, but varies by state).
-Act as a general "on the ground" coordinator for the PAC in the state. This includes enlisting additional volunteers for any needed tasks, outreach to existing groups, presence at political events, etc., to the extent that you are able to help.
-Help the PAC leadership to identify candidates for state legislature in the state who are consistent with our principles.

Requirements:
-Must be 18 years of age or older.
-Must reside in the state in which you are applying (Note: This does not apply in all states. If you're interested, but are not a resident in one of the four states, let me know and I'll go back into the laws to see if anything is available.)

***NOTE: Failure to perform reporting can result in monetary and/or legal penalties incurred by the PAC. Please only apply if you are serious and committed to the task. You will be asked to sign a contract expressing your commitment to the position for one year.***

***NOTE: We also need candidates! Feel free to reply and express your willingness/intent to run as a candidate yourself.***

Thanks all!

-Matt

I keep seeing threads referencing "the PAC", but no link to help out people like me that must have missed the original story. What is this PAC? Why should I care? You guys need to inlcude a link for reference in all of these threads if you want to build interest from people who didn't see the original story.

o O

Don't know what to tell you, man. It's been all over these forums top to bottom and back to front. At this point there is far too much data to summarize. You can start by reading the posts inside THIS VERY FORUM in which you are now posting....

We don't have a "link" to offer, as we are in the initial planning stages and working towards a website to direct you to.

This forum ("State Candidate PAC") has basically been our breeding ground for ideas for the past few weeks. The stickied thread at the top of the page should give you a good idea of our goals and objectives. Our leadership team is also working on a Statement of Principles and Charter for the organization.

I've seen threads referencing it starting with one that was soliciting ideas to name it, but none that explained what the thing/project was all about. Sorry, but even as active as I am in this forum, I don't have the time nor inclination to read every single thread here.

My point was if you want to build more interest, you have to provide some context to new eyeballs. You need make this easy for people. The more hoops people have to jump through, the more limited your market will be. It's web marketing 101.

We need to elect conservative Constitutionalist people in these 4 states in 2011. Most elections for these positions are in even years so people tend to forget the states that are on a different cycle. We need people to step up and run for office, help those that are running for office. 2011 is really close when it comes down to it.

To sum up.. we are putting together a PAC to be active in as many states as possible that will be solely dedicated to the identification of, endorsement of, financing of and (hopefully) election of liberty candidates for state level offices. Basically we want more Glen Bradleys

Yeah, like I said, the thread that is "stickied" at the top of this sub-forum is intended to achieve this goal. Right now we are exclusively based here. Obviously, a website would be nice, but our hands are tied since state laws mandate that once we begin raising money, we have to file. Thus, my request for volunteers in these four states NOW.

I see the sticky thread now, but I think my larger point was missed. A simple link in the OP to the stickied thread would provide the context I was asking for. I don't know about most of you, but I regularly use the "New Posts" link to browse topics and I rarely pay attention to the forum room they are stored in.

Sounds like a great project. Can't help with current efforts - I'm in Texas.

Matt,

Did you get my message? May have a treasurer for NJ. GOOD choice, very experienced, very knowledgeable, very diligent.
