You can read the CNN article here on this issue:

http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/03/28/financial.oversight/index.html

Then use the following link to contact your representative to let them know that giving more power to the private central bank (AKA the Federal Reserve) that was at least moderately responsible for the current financial crisis would be the equivalent of giving your house keys as a reward to someone that just punched you in the face.

Make sure to only email your US senator/representative since it is a federal issue.

It's time to start fighting back against these international bankers that are destroying US sovereignty and wrecking havoc on our standard of living. You might want to also include a line stating your support for the repeal of NAFTA and other similar free trade agreements, which are responsible for sending our decent paying jobs overseas.

Any other ideas for resistance would be appreciated.

Here is a sample letter

I am writing in opposition the the Bush/Paulson plan to give the Federal Reserve power over virtually the entire financial industry. What ever happened to Republicans supporting FREE markets?

Giving the FED this power would be the equivalent to giving your house keys as a reward to someone that just punched you in the face. As the FED's policies have a large part in causing the current crisis, giving them more power as a result is ludicrous and irresponsible, and I am asking you to help kill any proposals to give the FED more power.

If anything, the FED should be abolished, and I would support any such action to get rid of the central bank and return us to a gold standard of currency. By bailing out Wall Street, they are causing massive inflation and I think it would be a monumental disaster to continue along the path of giving more power to these people.

Thank you for your time, and I appreciate any action that you take on my behalf and on the behalf of the people of this great state.

Perhaps a little rewording here. :)

Just seems better not to have the word inflation twice in the same sentence. :)

Thanks Dr. 3D - I didnt take the time to look for that, my English teacher wouldn't have been proud.:D

I'm all for it! The more intervention, the less idiot statists can say, "what we needed was more regulation, oversight etc." when the whole thing collapses.

As soon as I read about Bush's plan I felt like I had been punched in the face. I am so grateful I can come here and see that there are others who actually care that we are being flushed further down the socialistic toilet. Thanks for the ideas--I'll write my representatives.

I have been screaming for years. They will not listen! period

It is just a proposal, the details of the plan are supposed to be released on Monday March 31st from what I have heard.

SL89 I know you have been screaming for years and these politicians won't listen most of the time, but they need to meet resistence, we must not give up or back down. With Ron Paul's candidacy, the amazing thing that has happened is that we now have a good 5%-10% of the population that knows what is going on, plus we are better organized, and we didn't have that before. Take this to the next level and we just might become the majority! I don't want to die and stand before my God to have him tell me I gave up and didn't make a stand. Even if writing my representatives is all I can do, then I must do it. If you can support Ron Paul candidates for Congress, that would help even more.
