ACLU picked up Brent Stafford's case!!!

Me, too. I'm glad they're taking up an actual civil rights case. I'm rather amazed. But they tend to try to "balance" rights in a way that perverts them. Hopefully they do more good than harm in this case.

They do seem to decide the point was made and bargain stuff away (I'm thinking of Bierfeldt's case) but showing they were in the wrong and may get sued is at least helpful above doing nothing.

It's good that this is getting publicity.

That said I trust the ACLU as far as I can drop-kick an anvil...

I agree, although they've done a couple things recently that pleasantly surprised me: They expressed support for Rand's drone filibuster, and they also expressed opposition to Reid's gun control bill because of the implications of creating a national registry of gun owners. If they keep doing stuff like this, they might turn my anvil into a Nerf anvil.

Thanks for the support Submitted by OFallonBrent on Tue, 04/16/2013 - 13:52. Permalink
Thank you everyone for your support. The process is far from over, but now it is official.
I'd like to answer a few questions from below.
First, I could not begin the federal case until the criminal charges were dealt with. That happened back in September. Once that happened the ACLU process could begin. It takes a decision by the ACLU board for a case to be taken up.
Once that decision was made some pre-filing discovery began taking place. Many records and documents were obtained and that took some time. Then the complaint was drafted and went through some revisions. That is why it has taken as long as it has.
Kenny Suitter has finally been given a date for his trial. The date is June 18th. It could still be dropped. We will have to see what happens.
Kenny and I have started an internet radio show. We started as a weekly show, but now we are daily from 1-3pm CST. We are looking at taking the next step and going to video and doing live broadcasts. We will probably do a kickstarter project to raise funds for the equipment we will need for that. Once we have the video equipment we can expand the show and do special reports and documentaries in addition to regular shows.
You can listen to today's show here:
On today's show we have an interview with Harry Otto from the State Auditors office regarding their upcoming audits of the fee offices. We will be updating on the latest news regarding the DoR issue as well as the tragedy in Boston yesterday.

Thanks again for all of your kind words throughout this entire ordeal. I will try to keep DailyPaul readers up to date as much as I can.

Oppose 2 characters TYRANNY!!!!! :D

Little disappointed that they are going only after police and city and not E. Doakes and other people in GOP that orchestrated it.

at the very least this all is not going to be forgotten in any hurry, even if the ACLU backs off!
