Ace-m4: Will I be flagged as a terrorist?

Did the founders really intend for us to own weapons that could kill 140 people at once?

Going through files I downloaded last month I found 'ace-m4.zip' and didn't remember what it was.
Now I remember ACE is a platform-independent, collaborative text editor, but...

When I Googled ace-m4, to my surprise appeared images of a really dangerous looking automatic (?) weapon.
Have I been flagged as a terrorist?

Anyone here own an Ace-m4?
Is it an automatic weapon?

Ace M4 ? You mean the butt stock for an M4 rifle?

The M4 is a shortened AR15/16 variant. (carbine)
ACE is a company that makes replacement parts.

And yes, The Founders were adamant that citizens be armed equal to the military, or preferably superior to.

My personal choice would be,,

2 of them,,(while I'm wishing) one for me and one for my wife.

What exactly are those 140 individuals doing?

If they're doing something they're not supposed to be doing according to our Bill of Rights, I believe the founders would've cared little about the means to stop them.

What if 280 individuals were stomping the Bill of Rights?

:)

I'm more interested in if we who use black powder firearms are allowed to make our own black powder. Genuine black powder has become very hard to find anymore and I've searched the internet for a place to buy Goex FFG and FFFG black powder. So far all I've been able to find is places that will ship a case of 24 pounds. They won't sell any smaller amounts. I sure don't need 24 pounds of black powder but by law if I were to order any, I would not be allowed to resell any of it.

I do know how to make my own, but if I were to purchase the potassium nitrate, charcoal and sulfur, would I be put on a list to be investigated? Is it illegal to make our own black powder?

potassium nitrate can be bought for many other purposes than making gunpowder. Just did a quick google and it can be had on Amazon, Ebay and probably your local hardware store. Pay cash and buy the sulfur and charcoal separately and it's unlikely you'll make anyone's watch list. Unless of course they are reading this post.

An M4 is just a light carbine that usually takes 30-round magazines. It isn't remotely capable of killing 140 people at once, regardless of whether you did the shooting in semi- or full-auto mode (though you'd generally kill more people by using aimed semi-auto fire).

Even a belt-fed machine gun couldn't kill 140 people at a time unless those people were all crammed into a single room or otherwise incapable of scattering as soon as you started shooting. And it would take at least a couple of ammo belts to finish them all off, since most of the shots would either miss or hit non-vital areas of the body.

If a terrorist or lunatic wanted to kill that many people at once, he'd need to set off a BIG bomb in a very crowded area, set an apartment building on fire and block the exits, poison a food supply, etc. These are things that almost anyone could do, and they require no access to military-grade weaponry.

As for what weapons the Founders wanted us to have, those would be the weapons needed for the people to defend themselves against a government gone bad. That means most of the weapons the military possesses. Put those in the hands of enough people, and the government will always be accountable to the people.

Yeah, but if I did get caught making it, I wonder if they would have a field day saying I was making explosives or something. This is the thing that bothers me. We used to be able to buy and make our own powder and now with all of the government interference, it's almost like anything we do is illegal.

No, it's not illegal to make your own black powder. And you can buy potassium nitrate (among other chemicals) by the pound from fireworks suppliers online. Lots of hobbyists mix it with sugar to make propellant for homemade model rockets. Buying it is considered no big deal. After all, you can buy smokeless powder in fairly large quantities online with no questions asked.

Most would agree that homemade BP is unlikely to be of comparable quality to the commercial variety. But if you're just interested in experimenting, I'd say go for it.

If you made it in small batches, and had the blackpowder guns to use it in, it's unlikely you'd see any trouble. That said, G7 protesters have been arrested on terrorism charges for having chemical weapons when all they had was hot peppers or chili powder in the kitchen. So if they want to arrest you, they can find a reason regardless of the legitimacy of what you are doing.

Thanks all... I appreciate your responses.

I learned how to make it back in the '70s and what I did make was every bit as good if not better than what Goex makes now. I just don't like to work that hard if I don't have to. But judging from the cost of the chemicals, I can make it for around $6.00 a pound instead of buying it for around $20.00 a pound. I figure if I am allowed to make it, I should probably do so.
