...for this Friday's show, it's some kind of panel discussion about the youth vote. Sounds like it will be loaded with Obama supporters so I may be a lone voice in the wilderness. Can anybody clarify a couple facts for me?

How much we spend subsidizing illegal immigration?

How much the Iraq War has cost us?

How much maintaining our empire costs us yearly?

The total current amount of our national debt?

Well, wish me luck !

national debt: 9 trillion

cost of the war:
* $275 million per day
* $4,100 per household
* Almost 4,000 U.S. soldiers killed and more than 60,000 wounded
* 700,000 Iraqis killed and 4 million refugees

If you get a chance, please ask him why he (and other folks, e.g., Andrew Sullivan on the 2/15 show) go on and on about how these 'frontrunners' only pay lip service to the Constitution, or don't understand that it's our presence in the Middle East that does much to stir up anger towards us, yet little to no mention is made of the fact that Dr. Paul is running on pretty much these positions...?

Oh, and tell Maher that Dark Side of the Moon is NOT a double album... ;)

Good luck. Have fun!

Good Luck.

Im curious what Obama supporters actually know about Obama's positions, Obama's previous votes, and the current state of affairs.

We cant afford to legalize 12 million illegal aliens, plus we already tried it in the 1980s and the govt still didnt stop illegal immigration. Its hurting wages, state budgets. Its gotta stop and they have to leave.

Big point - you dont have to physically deport them - thats a scare tactic - crackdowns on employers in Oklahoma and Arizona are working very effectively at getting them to voluntarily leave.

Mention how Obama voted for the redistribution of the Patriot Act, voted to fund the Iraqi war, will not take any option off the table with Iran including nuclear weapons, and mention how he wants to move some troops from Iraq to Pakistan while also not offering a Iraqi pullout by 2013. Talk about how Obama will get the money to give every college student 4000 dollars when we are 9 trillion dollars in debt (59.1 trillion if liabilities like social security are included).
Oh and mention how Ron Paul was the only candidate to not vote to spend a cent of the Social Security funds. Oh and about inflation.

Wishing U luck too!

Ron Paul says $60 trillion! in debt and $20 billion for illegals per year, ( I thought it was 9 trillion too)

Hopefully you can ask Maher why he doesn't mention Ron Paul's name when he still mentions his policy points "They don't hate us because of our freedom, they hate us because we are over there."

$53 trillion in debt in unfunded obligations through 2040, that's where the $60 trillion (what's $7 trillion among friends?) figure comes from. Includes medicare, medicade and social security, etc.

Or so I've read. I don't think anyone knows exactly how much it's all costing. Mainly because when you have your own printing press, it doesn't really matter, does it? Except to us little folk who pay the bills and suffer through the inflation. Boys, (he said with a far away look in his tired old eyes) I remember when a new Cadillac cost $5000.

Thanks for all the numbers and advice! I plan to hit foreign policy, illegal immigration, inflation and the economy if given the chance. I kinda look forward to making some Obama supporters heads spin. The term ' But where will you get the money?" will be used quite a bit. We'll see how it goes, I have no idea if there are going to be 4 of us or 40 so who knows how much time I'll actually get.

You're gonna be on Real Time with Bill Maher? Sweet! I love that show. I watch it everyweek. I even watch the replays a few times during the week. Bill Maher's show is where I first heard of Ron Paul and it inspired me to research the good Doctor and I have been a supporter ever since. :)

Goodluck and represent, Patriot! :D

Try to mention the Ron Paul media blackout & ask his thoughts
about if it should be the mainstream media's right to decide
who is electable. I always thought that it should be the public's
decision but what do I know...I'm a fringe supporter. ;)

9/11

• Primary objective in the war on terror is to capture or kill bin Laden and his henchmen. President Bush referred to finding him "dead or alive."
• Original Purpose: “When we retaliate for this horror we have suffered, we must be certain that only the guilty be punished.”
• We have allowed the passage of time and the false specter of an Iraq threat to distract us from our original purpose.
• Marque and Reprisal : A modern day BOUNTY
 Create an incentive for individuals close to bin Laden to kill or capture him and his associates.
 Help us avoid a wider war by bringing terrorists to justice without the need for military action.
 Save American lives.

Iraq

This war will have nothing to do with US national security or Iraqi aggression. It will, however, make us all less secure by antagonizing millions of Muslims who understand the necessity of our actions against Al-Queda, but who will object to an invasion of Iraq.

• The Just War Theory - The war in Iraq fails to meet almost all of these requirements.
 War should be fought only in self defense.
 War should be undertaken only as a last resort.
 A decision to enter war should be made only by a legitimate authority.
 There must be a reasonable chance of success.
 A public declaration notifying all parties concerned is required.

• The United States invaded Iraq under false pretenses without a constitutionally-required declaration of war. The area is more dangerous now than when we entered it.
Until the U.S. invasion of Iraq, Iraq never had a suicide terrorist attack in all of its history.• The strongest motivation for suicide bombings is to compel modern democracies to withdraw military forces from the territory the terrorists view as their homeland.
• While we keep our focus on Iraq indefinitely, bin Laden remains free to plot his next attack, and can continue to portray us as occupiers and recruit more volunteers to his cause.
• Our Army and Marine Corps are at a breaking point with little to show for it (General Batiste). A weakened and over-committed military is a recipe for a national security disaster. Meanwhile, Washington continues to talk about how many other countries it could send troops to.
• It is now time to bring our troops home. We must return our focus to finding bin Laden and making sure that we can be prepared for any future threats against our national security.

Non-Intervention

We should neither initiate violence, nor take sides in conflicts that are none of our business.
• Talk with our neighbors, do honest business with them, cultivate friendship, allow travel and open communication.
• The administration has behaved as if there are only two choices in foreign policy - sending money or sending bombs.
• Our government involvement in the internal affairs of other nations: Our friend one day is our enemy the next. And all our friends' enemies become our enemies. How many times have we armed BOTH sides of a conflict because of this?
• The American taxpayers are working hard enough to support their families here at home. Do not slap Americans in the face by forcefully sending their children's college money abroad to subsidize despotic foreign governments.
• Our children should be going off to college, not going off to more senseless foreign wars.
