As the returns began to trickle in, a spontaneous prayer circle broke out at the Des Moines Embassy Suites where Huckabee supporters were congregating. The group prayed for Huckabee's victory as well as some of his more conservative views — including an end to abortion and homosexuality.
Third place remains too close to call with former U.S. Sen. Fred Thompson, R-Tenn., holding a slight lead, based on ABC News projections, over U.S. Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., and U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, R-Calif.
My god, the older religious right are so EASY to manipulate.
It is the presidents job to end homosexuality eh? Is he going to reach his holy hands into every gay american's brain and "fix" them?
The only other option I see is state sanctioned persecution. Funny how it was religion itself that was persecuted not so long ago.
Will Paul spend some money on some professional consultants or will he continue to insist on letting beginners run his campaign and spend the money? I think he would of been well advised to hire some guns to help run the show.
Good lord
I have no problem appealing to voters on positives ("Hi, I am Christian. Check that shit out!") but won't vote for a candidate who panders to the negative elements of society ("lol I hate gay people too vote 4 me")STOP IT! We didn't hardly even campaign to them. Perhaps if we did, we would have gotten their votes. Maybe we should learn from this and stop ignoring the older, Christian voters!!!
Gomer's numbers went through the roof after he used that Christian mailing list. Why the hell hasn't our campaign tried to rent that same list?
Everyone thought we could just ignore all these people. I guess this shows that we cannot! Plus, we need to get better informed about how to win elections.
Well, they do believe an invisible man lives in the sky!My god, the older religious right are so EASY to manipulate.
